Chelsea to Win

Chelsea are slowly starting to find their feet under Graham Potter, recording back-to-back 3-0 home victories over AC Milan and Wolves. The AC Milan victory was particularly important, keeping Chelsea’s hopes of qualifying for the knockout stages of the Champions League alive. Chelsea can take control of Group E with another win on Tuesday night.

AC Milan offered very little in that defeat at Stamford Bridge in a disappointing display from the Italian champions. They recovered with a 2-0 win over Juventus at the weekend, but there is no denying that they have struggled in Europe in recent seasons, despite their improved domestic form. The Italian giants finished bottom of their group in the Champions League last season and were knocked out by a fairly average Manchester United side in the last-16 of the Europa League a season earlier.

They face a Chelsea side that has finally found their groove after a poor start to the season and could come unstuck in Europe yet again.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Score Anytime

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang returns to the club where his footballing career began on Tuesday night and will be looking to emulate his goal scoring performance from last week. Aubameyang has made a fairly underwhelming start to life at Stamford Bridge scoring two goals in just four appearances since moving at the end of August.

He has made just one league appearance for the Blues, scoring in the 2-1 win at Crystal Palace. Aubameyang is a proven goalscorer and exactly the type of player that Chelsea have needed over the last few seasons. He can return to haunt his first club once more on Tuesday night.

Celtic vs RB Leipzig: Draw

Celtic’s Champions League hopes hang by a threat as the Scottish champions have managed to collect just one point from their opening three games in the competition. Ange Postecoglou’s side simply have to beat both RB Leipzig and Shakhtar Donetsk at home in their next two games and then hope that Real Madrid have nothing to play for on the last day of the group stages if they are to have any hope of progressing.

History is not on their side, however. Celtic have won just two of their last 23 Champions League ties, losing 17 and drawing four. They have not won at home in the competition since a 2-1 win over Ajax in October 2013. Their league form has also nose-dived in recent weeks, securing back-to-back 2-1 wins in unconvincing fashion after losing 2-0 at St. Mirren.

They were deservedly beaten in Leipzig last week but played with enough gusto in their home defeat to Real Madrid to prove that they are capable of taking something on Tuesday night. Leipzig, who currently sit 10th in the Bundesliga, have blown hot and cold this season and may have to settle for a point at Celtic Park.

Christopher Nkunku to Score Anytime

From Chelsea’s present to Chelsea’s future. Christopher Nkunku seems almost certain to join the Blues next summer but will play an important role for the remainder of Leipzig’s season. Nkunku, who won the Bundesliga Player of the Season award last year, has scored 10 goals in 14 appearances this season, including one against Celtic last week.

The French forward has serious pedigree in Europe, scoring 11 goals in 12 games during Leipzig’s run to the Europa League semi-finals, where he scored against Celtic’s Glasgow rivals Rangers. He is good value to score against a Scottish club in Europe once again on Tuesday night.
