There’s plenty of footie action on Monday night across Europe’s top leagues to sink our teeth into. We’ll start in Italy, where Fiorentina welcome a tricky Lazio side, who have three straight league wins going into the fixture. Then at 8pm, Nottingham Forest play Aston Villa in the Premier League, with the home side looking for their first league win in six games.
There’s also interest in the Spanish La Liga, where Elche face Mallorca, and in Portugal, as Famalicão travel to play Arouca at the lower end of the Primeira Liga. Let’s get into the bets…
19:45 – Fiorentina v Lazio: Lazio Double Chance

Lazio have had a very strong start to the Serie A season, picking up a respectable 17 points from their eight games – leaving them three points off the league leaders Napoli. That return has included a victory against Inter Milan at home, with the Rome-based side sitting above both Milan teams, and heavy-hitters Juventus & Roma.
In fourth, Lazio also sit above eleventh-placed Fiorentina, who’ve picked up just two wins so far this season. But whilst their away form has been very poor, at home, their eight points from four games includes draws with both Juventus and Napoli.
So the bet we’re backing is a Lazio double chance – they’re yet to lose on the road this season, whilst Fiorentina have a handy knack of picking up a point when welcoming stronger opposition.
20:00 – Forest v Villa: Over 2.5 Goals

Steve Cooper’s Forest need to get back to putting some points on the board. They didn’t look too bad against Leicester until the Foxes scored, but were then dismantled after that.
Villa under Steven Gerrard have been quite indifferent this season. The less said about their 0-0 draw last time out, the better, but they have picked up five points from their last three games, which includes a point at home to City.
The home side in this one have shipped 18 goals in their last five games – including three to Bournemouth (who have only scored three other goals this season). So despite Villa’s less than impressive attacking record this season, there should still be goals in this match – over 2.5 of them.
20:00 – Elche v Mallorca: Mallorca to win

La Liga table does not make pleasant reading for Elche. Rock bottom, with just a singular point after seven games, having scored three goals, and conceded 18. Maybe the only solace they can take coming into Monday night’s fixture, is that their only point this season was a 1-1 home draw.
Mallorca have eight points from their seven games so far this season, with four of those points coming from their three away matches, having beaten Rayo Vallecano and picking up a point at Bilbao on the opening dauy. We’re backing twelfth-placed Mallorca to beat the bottom side.
20:15 – Arouca v Famalicão: Arouca Win to Nil
These two sides are separated by two points after the opening eight games of the Portuguese top division, but find themselves hovering above the relegation places. Arouca are a slightly more comfortable 13th place, but have only picked up three points from their past five games – including two score draws in their last two games.
Famalicão had been struggling this season, but pulled off a surprise 4-0 home win against Boavista last time out. However, that cannot mask their struggles on the road this season, picking up just a singular point from their four away matches. BTTS has not come through this season for the away side, which informs our bet for this encounter.
We’re going for Arouca to win to nil for this one, with Famalicão yet to score away from home this season, and being encouraged by Arouca, who have scored in their last three games, and will look to get back to winning ways in this one.
