Club football returns with a bang on Friday night and we’ve gone on the prowl for value in the betting markets. We’ll be looking in on defending Portuguese champions Porto hosting Braga in the Primeira Liga as well as Athletic Bilbao taking on Almeria in La Liga. At the same time, Angers entertain Marseille in Ligue Un while Hull roll out the red carpet for Luton in the Championship. Kicking us off first though, we have Bayern Munich take on Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga.

WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

Bayern Munich vs Bayer Leverkusen, Friday 7:30pm

Bayern to Win & Both Teams to Score.

TV: SkySports Mix

The headlines would have you believe that Bayern are in crisis but looking at their results things aren’t nearly as bad as the picture painted. The Bavarians have won two, drawn two and lost one of their last five fixtures in all competitions. Over their last five played at the Allianz they’ve won two and drawn three, scoring nine while conceding five with Both Teams to Score landing in three of those clashes.

Leverkusen have really been struggling this season and find themselves just a point above the relegation zone. Sure we’re only seven games in but in total they’ve played 10 games in all competitions this season and have only won two. Of their last five they’ve won one, drawn two and lost two while on their travels have won one, drawn one and lost three, scoring eight while conceding eight with BTTS landing in two and Over 2.5 goals being seen in three. Facing a Bayer team low on confidence the hosts should get back to winning ways here but they’re shipping goals and the away side are averaging more than a goal per game so should draw some blood; Bayern to Win & BTTS has the value here.

Hull vs Luton, 8:00pm

Luton to Win.

TV: SkySports Football

Hull are also struggling this season, winning just three of their 10 Championship encounters thus far; of their last five the Tigers have won just one and lost all four of the others, scoring just four goals and failing to score in three of those games. On home soil, things are a bit better with three wins and two losses where they’ve scored seven and conceded nine with four of those five games seeing Over 2.5 goals land.

Luton are in decent shape, they’ve won two, drawn two and lost one of their last five in the league and over their four away games so far this season have won two, drawn one and lost one, scoring five and conceding four. With the away side in such poor form over their most recent games we have to give the Hatters the nod here.

Angers vs Marseille,  8:00pm

Marseille to Win.

TV: BT Sport 2

Angers began their Ligue Un season in terrible form, going six games before chalking up their first win of the season against Montpellier on September 11th but capitalised on that win with another away to Nice the following weekend. Of their last five matches then they’ve won two and lost three, scoring six while conceding 13 with Overs been witnessed in four of those five matches. On home soil they’ve played four games this season, winning one, drawing one and losing two, scoring five and conceding eight with Overs landing in three.

Marseille have won two, drawn one and lost two of their last five in all competitions but looking at league form only they’re unbeaten over their eight games so far with six wins and two draws. On their league excursions they’re also unbeaten but have only played three away games so far, winning two and drawing one, scoring six and conceding one. While the hosts have improved of late it’s the Les Phoceens who are the form side and we’re backing them to add to their league tally here.

Athletic Bilbao vs Almeria, 8:00pm

Athletic Bilbao to Win to Nil

TV: LaLiga TV

Athletic Bilbao have been powering up the La Liga table of late and have won four out of their last five fixtures in the league, losing the other one. Over those five games they’ve scored a very healthy 12 goals and conceded four with Over 3.5 goals occurring in three of those matches. On home soil they’ve so far won two, drawn one and lost one, scoring four and conceding three.

Almeria are going to be in for a long season after winning promotion last season, of their six La Liga games so far they’ve only won one. Of the other five they’ve drawn one and lost four. Away from home they’ve been pretty poor, drawing one and losing two of their three games so far, scoring just once while conceding three. The hosts are rightfully odds-on favourites here but the away side’s lack of goal-scoring prowess as well as Los Leones’ stingy defence means we’re getting some great value here in the Win to Nil market.

Porto vs Braga, 9:15pm

Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals

TV: BT Sports 3

Porto have only won two of their last five fixtures in all competitions, drawing one and losing one but their league from is a bit better with three wins, one draw and a loss over their last five league games. Over those five games they scored 10 goals and conceded just two. On home soil they’ve played four games this season, winning three and losing one, scoring 11 while conceding five but kept two clean sheets over those four games.

Braga have had a mighty start to the season; of their nine games played in all competitions so far they’ve won eight and drawn the other one. Of their seven league games they’ve won six and drawn one, scoring 23 goals while conceding just five, keeping five clean sheets. Away from home they’ve so far played four games this season and have won them all, scoring 14 while conceding two. On form you’d nearly want to back the away side here but Porto are Porto and you can simply never dismiss them. Both are in mighty goal-scoring form though so the best value here is in goals; we’re backing BTTS & Overs here.
