For Sunday night’s football Treble we’re taking a deep dive into the stats and form when the Czech Republic host Portugal in Prague in League A, Group Two with the away side desperate to pip Spain at the top of the Group standings.

WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

At the same time Spain host Switzerland in Zaragoza and are odds-on favourites to take the three points. In League B, Group Four we’ll also be looking at Serbia taking on Sweden where the home side will be gunning to overtake Norway in the standings.

7.45pm: Czech Republic v Portugal – Portugal Win & BTTS

TV: Premier Extra

The Czech’s aren’t in great form of late, they’re currently three points behind Portugal in the standings and have won just one of their last five fixtures, drawing two and losing two, scoring five goals while conceding eight. On home soil though things look far rosier, they’re unbeaten over their last seven games and over their last five have won three and drawn two, scoring 15 while conceding five with Both Teams to Score landing in three and Over 2.5 Goals in four.

The Portuguese have won three, drawn one and lost one over their last five and on their away trips have won two, drawn two and lost one, scoring seven and conceding three with BTTS landing in two and Overs also occurring in two. No doubt the away side are the stronger of the pair here but we cannot dismiss that good run of home form for the Czechs and with them scoring so many they should at least leave a mark here. With the pressure on though and their experience in the ranks the away side should come out on top and we’re getting a great value price for Portugal to Win and Both Teams to Score.

7.45pm: Spain v Switzerland – Spain Win & Over 1.5 Goals

TV: BoxNation

Spain are enjoying a rich vein of form of late, losing just one of their last 10 fixtures, winning three and drawing two of their last five, scoring 11 while conceding just three. On Spanish soil, Luis Enrique’s Rojas have won four of their last five matches played there, drawing the other one, scoring a very healthy 11 while conceding just two.

Switzerland have won just one of their last five matches, drawing one and losing three, scoring just three goals while conceding eight. Away from home they share the same stats regarding their results but have scored seven and conceded nine.

While Spain’s record of clean sheets is impressive, the Rossocrociati have scored against them in three of their last five clashes over the last four years and their away scoring record is decent. We’ve little fear regarding the Spanish emerging victorious here but let’s take a wee bit of insurance as this should be ending 2-0, 3-0 or 2-1 so we’re backing Spain to Win & Over 1.5 Goals.

7.45pm: Serbia v Sweden – Serbia to Win

Hosts Serbia come into this clash as odds-on favourites against a Swedish side who have won just one of their last five fixtures and lost all four of the others. Group Four leaders Norway are in action earlier in the day away to Slovenia so Serbia could top the group here with a win should Norway get beaten on their travels.

The home side have won two, drawn one and lost two of their last five fixtures and on home soil have a very impressive record with four wins and one draw, scoring 15 while conceding four with BTTS landing in three and Over 3.5 Goals in four.

Sweden’s recent form was mentioned above and away from home they share the same results; one win and four losses, scoring four goals but failing to score in three of those games and conceding a total of eight. With Fulham’s Aleksandar Mitrovic in scintillation form, scoring six in seven for the Cottagers in the league so far as well as 10 over this last 11 in a national team shirt, and being backed up by Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic and Ajax’s Dusan Tadic we only see one winner here and that’s Serbia.
