WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

Wednesday 7.45pm: Scotland v Ukraine

TV: ITV4, Premier Sports 1 and ITV Hub

I can sense a little bit of revenge in the air for Scotland after Ukraine beat them in that qualifier. I really think Scotland got caught on the hop. They kept pushing and pushing and getting hit on the counter attack.

I don’t think they will fall for it again, I think Scotland will be a bit tighter this time so I’m not expecting a very open game. I think there will be just the one goal in this.

I expect Scotland to sit in, be very tight and for them to take the lead and that will be a change in mentality. So, I’m going for Scotland to Win this 1-0.

The man most likely to get that goal, for me, is Che Adams. He’s a hard worker, he’s had a decent start to the season for Southampton so I fancy Adam to Score First.

Thursday 7.45pm: Belgium v Wales

TV: S4C, Premier Sports 1 and S4C Online

Wales got a 1-1 draw with Belgium at home the last time they played. I’m just wondering where Wales are pitching their mindset at the moment. Is the Nations League the be all and end all for them? I’m not so sure.

It’s not far away, the World Cup. Yes, they’ll be looking at players and I think Wales will be doing just that. I think they can go there a little bit carefree but Belgium, at times you just don’t know what you’re going to get from them.

They’ve had some really good form, except that 4-1 defeat by Holland. I do see Belgium having to play as they’re at home. Wales will think, ‘We’ll be trying players’. I’m going for a comfortable Belgium Win.

I’m going for Kevin De Bruyne for Score Anytime. He’s been in teriffic form for Belgium and Manchester City. I think he’ll probably play about an hour and that should be enough.

Friday 7.45pm: Italy v England

TV: Channel 4 and All 4

I’m expecting this one to be tight. I’m not going for any great shakes with this one. England come here off a big 4-0 loss against Hungary but Italy have also have a reversal, 5-2 away at Germany.

These two will not want to take a hiding and looking at England, they’re going to be sitting back. Italy at home, they’re going to have a go which will play into England’s hands. I’ve got no idea what kind of side England are going to put out.

They’ll sit back and I think they’ll enjoy that, especially Harry Maguire if he plays. I’m not seeing this as a great goal scoring exhibition. I do fancy England to come out as the winner of it, I do fancy a smash and grab, 1-0 to England.

I think you’ve got to go for Harry Kane in the goal scorer markets. He’ll want to play, how long he plays I don’t know. He’s been in scintillating form for Spurs, he scored again against Leicester. So, I’m going for Harry Kane to Score First and get the only goal of the game.
