Saturday 7.45pm: Middlesbrough v Rotherham
TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Football

The Draw

Middlesbrough were one of the early season favourites to win The Championship but they’ve struggled badly in the first nine games, finding themselves in 21st with nine points. Rotherham, usually perennial yo-yo boys in this division, are flying high in 9th after eight games with 13 points.

It’s early days of course but The Millers will be incredibly pleased with their start and they could potentially find themselves in a playoff spot with a win here on Saturday evening. Boro could find themselves in the drop zone before kick off.

WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

Both side’s best form has come on home soil, but Rotherham have only lost once away from the New York Stadium, drawing their other two matches. Boro have drawn two, won two and lost one at The Riverside but that loss came last time out on Tuesday against Cardiff.

Middlesbrough are big favourites to win here but their shaky start is putting me off. I’m not brave enough to put up Rotherham to Win outright as they’re yet to take three points on the road. I think The Draw is the most likely outcome here and is a great price as well.

Both Teams To Score

I don’t think we’re in for a drab 0-0. Both teams have scored in four of Boro’s five home games this season, though The Millers have only scored one goal on the road. The hosts have shipped a whopping 15 goals this term so Rotherham should get a few chances here at the very least.

They have scored 12 in eight but have only conceded six goals which is the third-best per match in the league. However, Middlesbrough have also scored 13 goals so they’ve got the ability going forward to notch, even against a good backline like Rotherham’s. I think we’ll see Both Teams Scoring.

Over 3.5 Cards

Middlesbrough lead the division in ill discipline. Chris Wiler’s crew have racked up 23 yellows and one red in their nine games far this season, an average of 2.67 per match. Rotherham, on the other hand, are far better behaved with 15 yellows from a game fewer, an average of 1.88 per 90 mins.

It all adds up to a combined total of 4.55 cards per match handed out to these two sides. With that stat standing out it’s surely worth a go on Over 3.5 Cards here.

Isaiah Jones To Score Or Assist

Middlesbrough have been sharing the goals about this season and they’ve got five players tied on two goals each at the top of their goal-scorer chart. One man with one is the versatile Isaiah Jones.

He’s set up three and tops that leader board along with Ryan Giles. Given his ability to provide and put them away Isaiah Jones To Score Or Assist could be the smart punt in this area here.
