Arsenal to Win

If you’re an Arsenal fan, you’re having the time of your life. This hasn’t been taken for granted and I think everyone believes that we’re never more than a misstep away from fighting for fourth again.

However, FC Zurich are having their worst start to a season in recent memory. They just about snuck past Hearts in the qualifier and manager Franco Foda is probably on his way out the door.

NEW TO PADDY POWER NEWS?

For as much hilarity as we take in Arsenal being abysmal, I promise you that you’ve never once had a season like FC Zurich’s. The big question now – Arsenal fans, does this relieve you, or does it add even more pressure? Who knows, really.

I wasn’t joking when I told you this might be the worst side an English team has faced from an established footballing nation. For a long time, the default side you end up with in Switzerland are Young Boys. For some much-needed context, Young Boys hammered FCZ 4-0 to open the season, and Zurich had a sub-70% passing accuracy rate.

I will always look for the double chance if and when it’s on, but in this situation, it seems naïve to consider even the possibility of it. All aboard the hype train for Big Mick Arteta as we see another Arsenal Win.

Over 3.5 Goals

And to add to this, Arsenal may rest players here, leading to the likes of Gabriel Jesus sitting this one out. And yes, he’s pivotal to how they play – but he’s merely a cog in a system already envisaged by Arteta from years ago.

That’s now coming to fruition and Arsenal move the ball quickly enough that individual brilliance probably won’t matter against a team who struggle to keep up with pace when it’s turned on. Expect a big win with Over 3.5 Goals.

Over 1.5 First Half Goals

And oftentimes, the idea of a big game coming up domestically is the real hindrance for teams going at it from early on. There’ll be no such fear for Arsenal as they return to face Everton at home on a Sunday and then have a trip across to west London against Brentford thereafter.

They’ll be at it from the off and we may well see Over 1.5 First Half Goals. And perhaps even more importantly, for a long time, the fringe players at Arsenal put in subpar performances because the standards at which they had to play weren’t too high in order to break into the first team. That theory has now been relinquished.

Both Teams to Score? No

They might have less than 20% possession in this game and that’s not a joke. Let’s go through their Swiss results so far this season.

Lost 4-0 to Young Boys; drew 0-0 with Luzern; lost 2-0 to St. Gallen; lost 3-0 to FC Sion; drew 1-1 with bottom side Winterthur; lost 4-2 to Basel and 2-1 to Lugano. Call it off. It’s Both Teams To Score? No.
