Middlesbrough were tipped to be challenging at the top of the table this season, however, they’ve had a disappointing start to the campaign. Chris Wilder’s men have won just one of their opening seven games.
As for Sunderland, they’re coming into this one with a new manager after Tony Mowbray replaced Alex Neil earlier this week. Mowbray’s made a strong start and was in charge for their 3-0 win against Rotherham on Wednesday.
That win, which was their third of the season, sent Sunderland up to eighth in the table.
Sunderland are in slightly better form than Middlesbrough but we fancy the home side to put in a solid effort. It could be hard to split them on Monday night so we’re going to be bold and go for The Draw.
Over 2.5 Goals
It might be hard to split the sides on Monday but there could be goals in this one. Middlesbrough have scored 10 and conceded 12 in just seven games this season, while Sunderland have netted 11 times in their seven games.
Over 2.5 Goals has landed in five of Boro’s last six games, while it’s been a successful pick in four of Sunderland’s last six matches. We’re hoping that trend continues… Over 2.5 Goals it is!
