Friday 8pm: West Brom v Burnley
TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Football

The Draw

The Championship is already living up to its billing as the most unpredictable and plainly bonkers league in the world. Pre-season relegation favourites Reading are flying high near the top of the table and the side who have created the second-most clear-cut chances in the league are 14th and have had just one win all season.

I am, of course, talking about West Brom here who tackle the restyled and rejuvenated Burnley at The Hawthorns on Friday night. Another odd quirk of this campaign so far was that until Tuesday the Clarets had won three of their seven games across the competitions with none of those coming on home soil.

They had drawn their three home matches, as well as losing once on the road, before beating Millwall at Turf Moor earlier this week. The Baggies have drawn two and won one of their league home matches. These two absolutely love a draw and eight of their 14 combined Championship matches have ended in stalemate with West Brom sharing the spoils at Wigan on Tuesday as well. I just can’t get away from The Draw in this one.

Both Teams To Score

It won’t be a bore draw, though. There’s been plenty of action when these two have taken to the field this term. I mentioned earlier that The Baggies have crated the second-most clear-cut chances in the league and they’ve scored 11 in seven but they’re leaky and have conceded nine as well.

Burnley have scored even more than West Brom with 13 in seven but they’ve shipped a goal a game so far. Both Teams have scored in six of The Baggies’ seven games and it’s four in seven for The Clarets. Both are conceding and scoring over a goal a game so I like Both Teams to Score here.

Grady Diangana to Score or Assist

While Karlan Grant is The Baggies’ main attacking focal point, it’s Grady Diangana who’s had the most goal involvements for them in the second tier this term. He’s got three assists and a goal to his name.

Grant is their top scorer on three but it’s Diangana’s ability to win the ball high up the pitch and provide for others that’s caught my eye. At a nice price and with two eventualities covered off I think Grady Diangana to Score or Assist here could be a great play against a possession-hungry Burnley side.

Jay Rodriguez to Score Or Assist

For The Clarets the most likely man to have a big involvement is Jay Rodriguez. He’s now scored in three of Burnley’s last four games and also has an assist up his sleeve, taking his goal involvements to four for the campaign.

Josh Brownhill is actually Burnley’s top scorer with four and he also has an assist as well but with Rodriguez outperforming his xG and getting an average of three shots away a match I think he’s better placed than Brownhill to get the job done here. Rodriguez to Score Or Assist rounds us off.
