Spurs to Win

Every single week the Premier League wields a different nonsensical conclusion that millions of people are happy to jump to. It generally consists of Team A being done or Team B having cemented a league title.

Now, you might think that I possess a hardline stance against that stuff, and you’d be right. But in this instance, I’m going to add one of my own anyway.

Spurs are certs for top four and West Ham will sack Dave Moyes in six weeks. And if this game goes the way I suspect, then I’ll be able to cash out on my ego inflation if nothing else. Early season trends tend to correct themselves by August, but I don’t think this will be one of them. Back me in a rare moment of clarity.

NEW TO PADDY POWER NEWS?

This is the Antonio Conte consistency that they shovelled out for. He’s an absolute wonder when things are going his way, and now he’s got one of the most creative forces in world football feeding Son Heung-min and Harry Kane, so their goalscoring aspirations aren’t solely down to one another.

Dejan Kulusevski might not have been on many people’s radars because they were too busy pretending not to watch Love Island, but he has revitalised this team. Spurs aren’t just winning games, they’re getting net positives as I like to call them. Even in the games you looked shaky, what happened?

They went 1-0 down to Southampton and slapped them for four. They scored a 96th minute equaliser away to Chelsea. Their next two wins came with clean sheets and their talisman making the difference. Spurs will win here.

Both Teams to Score? No

Part of the Moyes problem is that he’s overachieved, but in doing so, probably forced the club’s hand somewhat when it comes to recruitment. Gianluca Scamacca is an amazing talent, but he’s a goalscorer who capitalises on ball to feet inside the box.

West Ham generally had success going a little bit more direct to Antonio against low block or into channels when countering through Bowen. This identity crisis will make them hard to watch and I think they’ll fire a blank so I’ll take Both Teams To Score? No.

Harry Kane to Score or Assist

Kane will probably score but on the off-chance he doesn’t, he’s due to provide one. He’s on pace to beat Alan Shearer and Jimmy Greaves for pure goals but you could even argue he’s a better team player than both already. Harry Kane to Score or Assist is up next.

Over 1.5 First Half Goals

The only amendment left to make for Conte is starting a bit better. The only time they’ve scored the opening in the first half in the opening four games was last week through Kane.

West Ham typically start poorly. Conceded to Erling Haaland after 36 minutes; then gave up a first-half goal to Forest; conceded to Alexis Mac Allister after 22 minutes and finally converted at their fourth attempt – but in the second half. Expect an action-packed first 45 with Over 1.5 First Half Goals.
