Friday’s football Acca finds us foraging for value in the best of the night’s fixtures from the Bundesliga, La Liga, Ligue 1, Serie A and the Championship. There’s loads to get stuck into here so let’s get straight into it and we begin with the Bundesliga game between Freiburg and Bochum.

NEW TO PADDY POWER NEWS?

7.30pm: Freiburg v Bochum – Freiburg Win & Over 2.5 Goals

Both sides have played three Bundesliga games and one DFB Pokal game since the season began, the hosts have won two of those four fixtures, drawing one, winning it in Extra Time, and losing one. Bochum though have only won their cup game and have lost all three of their opening league encounters. Because of that lack of form the home side are very much the favourites here and it’s hard to see anything other than a home victory.

Freiburg have kept two clean sheets over their three league games so far this season but on home soil over their last seven competitive games have only managed to keep their opponents scoreless once. Bochum were trounced last weekend by Bayern, shipping seven goals to none but over their three prior games have scored six and over their last eight away Bundesliga games scored in all but one of those matches. We’re likely looking at a 2-1, 3-1 scoreline here so Freiburg to Win & Over 2.5 Goals has plenty of value.

7.45pm: Lazio v Inter – BTTS & Over 2.5 Goals

Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio have taken four points from a possible six so far while Inter have taken maximum points from their two Serie A games. They’ve put Inter to the sword twice over their last three meetings here at the Stadio Olimpico, winning 3-1 last season and 2-1 in 2020, while the other one ended 1-1 two seasons ago.

The Biancocelesti are a tough nut to crack on home soil, they’ve lost just two of their last 10 home Serie A clashes and of their last five played there have won two, drawn two and lost one with Both Teams to Score landing in four of those five games and Over 2.5 Goals in three. Inter though have won nine of their last 10 league games and away from home have won four of their last five, losing the other with BTTS and Overs landing in all five of those games. With those records we simply have to go with the generous odds for Both Teams To Score & Over 2.5 Goals here.

8pm: Luton v Sheffield United – Halftime Draw

Luton have played six competitive games so far this season, five in the Championship and one in the League Cup, winning just one of those fixtures, losing three and drawing two. Sheffield United have won three of their six games, drawing one and losing two. Neither side have exactly been impressive over their respective home/away games it must be noted; the Hatters have won just one of their last five played at Kenilworth Road, drawing two and losing two with Over 2.5 Goals been seen in just one of those games.

The Blades have also won just one of their last five away games, drawing two (losing one on penalties) and losing two where Overs was seen in three of those five clashes. Interestingly, we see that of their last five home/away games three have been level at HT for both teams so a good value shout here is the Half Time Draw.

8pm: AC Ajaccio v Lille – Both Teams to Score

Last season’s runners-up in Ligue 2, Ajaccio, have found the transition to top flight football a wee bit difficult. So far they’ve collected just one point from a possible nine and it’s worth pointing out here that they’ve never beaten Lille on home soil. The travelling side got a pounding from PSG last weekend, losing 1-7 to the Parisians after a masterclass from Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and Lionel Messi. They’ll have been licking their wounds all week in anticipation for this one and will be looking to get back to winning ways as quickly as they can.

L’ours have a decent home goal-scoring record, scoring in six of their last eight on home soil and Lille rarely keep a clean sheet anymore, indeed all six of their most recently played competitive games saw BTTS occurring and they conceded eight over their last five away league encounters. We’re going with Both Teams To Score for this one.

9pm: Betis v Osasuna – Betis to Win

Both Betis and Osasuna have impressed over their two La Liga games so far, taking a maximum of six points each. Betis are coming into the game as favourites and have beaten the away side in all five of their most recent meetings at both grounds as well as taking the spoils in all five of their most recently played clashes at the Estadio Benito Villamarin.

Los Rojillos’ away form has seen them winning just one of their last five on the road, drawing two and losing two with Both Teams To Score landing in four of those five while the hosts have won four and lost two of their last six home La Liga fixtures, keeping three clean sheets over those six games. Los Verdiblancos have also won four of their last five in the league and while the travelling side have started well that boisterous home crowd should see Betis taking the win here.
