Saturday 12:30pm: Tottenham v Wolves – English Premier League
TV: BT Sport 1

Tottenham (-1)

Tottenham have enjoyed an exciting start to their first full season under Antonio Conte and look like a decent outset bet to mount a title challenge.

Conte has proven his pedigree as a league manager in recent seasons, winning the league in his first season at Chelsea before helping to break Juventus’s stranglehold in Italy by guiding Inter Milan to the Serie A title.

It will be by far his biggest accomplishment if he can guide Spurs to the Premier League title, but they have made a good start to their campaign, winning strongly against Southampton and showing impressive mettle to rescue a draw at Chelsea.

They should be confident of picking up their second win of the campaign against a struggling Wolves side on Saturday afternoon.

Bruno Lage’s side have just one point from two very winnable games following an opening day defeat to Leeds and a subsequent draw against newly promoted Fulham, who missed a late penalty to snatch all three points. An easy Spurs win is on the cards so Tottenham (-1) kicks us off.

Harry Kane anytime assist

Harry Kane may be Spurs’ chief goal threat, but he is also one of their main sources of inspiration. Kane has provided 22 assists over the last two seasons, finishing on top of the assist charts in the 2020/21 campaign after providing 13 assists.

The nine assists that he provided last season were also enough to see him finish in the top ten. Kane’s ability to play a defence-splitting pass is up there with the very best and although he is yet to register an assist this season, he has averaged 2.5 key passes per game in his opening two games. He can help unlock the Wolves defence on Saturday and it’s only a matter of time before we see Kane register an Anytime Assist.

Both teams to score

Tottenham have made an impressive start to the season but have still left a lot to be desired defensively.

They were regularly cut apart by Chelsea on Sunday, with both Kalidou Koulibaly and Reece James afforded the freedom of Stamford Bridge to score, while an atrocious Southampton side managed to poke a few holes in the Spurs defence on the opening day of the season and even managed to score a goal.

Wolves have only scored one goal so far this season, but it is not for want of trying. Lage’s side created a number of glorious opportunities against both Leeds and Fulham and it was only poor finishing that prevented them from finding the back of the net.

Their finishing was particularly poor against Fulham, but it cannot be that bad again, especially if Spurs offer them the same kind of chances that they offered Chelsea.

At the other end, Spurs have already proved that they are ruthless by scoring six goals in their opening two league games. It should be a high-scoring affair on Saturday afternoon with Both Teams Scoring here.

Over 11.5 corners

Spurs won 10 corners in their opening game of the season against Southampton as they threw everything at the Saints after going 1-0 down, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see a similar kind of onslaught on Saturday.  Conte’s side have won 15 corners and conceded 10 in their opening two games at an average of 12.5 total corners per game.

Wolves, meanwhile, have won an average of 4.5 corners per game this season and can be expected to win at least a few corners of their own. There should be Over 11.5 Corners for the third Spurs game running.
