Tuesday 8pm: Rangers v PSV
TV: BT Sport 1

Rangers to Win

Rangers pulled off a miraculous comeback against Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise in the previous qualifying round after losing the first leg 2-0. They cannot afford to offer PSV the same head start on Tuesday night, though, especially with the first leg taking place at Ibrox.

Like Rangers, PSV pulled off a second-leg comeback in the last qualifying round to overcome Monaco and look like a formidable outfit under new manager Ruud Van Nistelrooy. Both sides boast 100% records in their respective leagues at this early stage of the season and this first leg should be an entertaining tie.

Rangers have proved in the last two seasons that they are more than capable of mixing it with some of the top teams in Europe, reaching the Europa League final last season and the Round Of 16 of the same competition two seasons ago. They brilliantly dumped out Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig en-route to the showdown in Seville against Frankfurt last season and topped a group with Benfica in the previous season.

Their European performances have arguably improved since Giovanni van Bronckhorst took the reins midway through last season and they can take a giant leap towards the Champions League group stages on Tuesday night.

Over 3.5 Goals

Van Nistelrooy has clearly passed on his goalscoring ability to his players since taking over at PSV. The Dutch side have been absolutely ruthless in the early days of his tenure, scoring nine goals in their opening two league games and thumping five past Ajax in the Johan Cruyff Shield.

They also put three past Monaco in their second-leg victory and boast an attack brimming with attacking talent. Rangers, on the other hand, have scored eight goals in their opening three league games and also scored three in their second leg win over Union Saint-Gilloise.

Neither side have been particularly impressive defensively this season. PSV are yet to keep a clean sheet under Van Nistelrooy, conceding nine goals in his first five competitive games, while Rangers looked defensively vulnerable in their first-leg defeat in Belgium.

It is hard to see Rangers keeping a clean sheet against such a ruthless attacking outfit, but it is equally hard to see PSV keeping Rangers out. There should be plenty of goals in this one.

Antonio-Mirko Colak to Score Anytime

Antonio-Mirko Colak has hit the ground running since arriving at Ibrox in the summer.

The Croatian forward has scored two goals in his first three league games at the club and also scored a vital goal in Rangers’ comeback victory against USG.

Colak has scored plenty of goals at almost every club he has played for, recently impressing during a loan spell at Malmo, where he scored 22 goals in 41 appearances.

The 28-year-old can make a difference on Tuesday night as Rangers aim to qualify for the Champions League proper for the first time since 2010.

Cody Gakpo to Score Anytime

There is a reason why Cody Gakpo has been linked with a big money move away from Eindhoven in recent weeks.

The Dutch forward has scored three goals in five appearances this season after scoring an impressive 21 goals in 47 games last season.

Gakpo’s performances last season saw him earn the Dutch Footballer of the Year Award and it is hard to see him remaining at PSV if they fail to qualify for the Champions League.

He has the pace and power to hurt Rangers and is excellent value to do so.
