7:45pm: Birmingham City v Watford – No

What do you get when you match a side who have had absolutely no logical investment pumped into them in a decade up against a Premier League quality side in a midweek fixture in the Championship?

Generally a coupon buster. Watford may still win this given the sheer gulf between the sides but John Eustace is focused on being defensively sound and Birmingham’s reliance on Scott Hogan and a Troy Deeney impersonator is hardly conducive to scoring goals en masse.

7:45pm: Norwich v Huddersfield – Yes

So, here we have two teams that have squads set up to score lots of goals, but failing to produce so far this season (admittedly from a small size).

It’s time for that to change, though.

Huddersfield possess a strike partnership of Jordan Rhodes and Danny Ward who have been god-given certainties at this level for a long time, but have only scored four times thus far.

They’ve also got the worst Expected Goals Against record in the division, touching five – which is astounding. They’re an imbalanced mess and long may it continue.

NEW TO PADDY POWER NEWS?

8pm: FC Copenhagen v Trabzonspor – Yes

Copenhagen’s start to the season is maybe the most unique I can recall in Europe in some time.

So, through five games, they’ve won two and lost three; scored a huge ten times but conceded the same amount of goals in that time.

No, I can’t explain it – but being at home is no longer the ‘keep a clean sheet’ fixture it used to be, and it doesn’t seem like they’re capable of doing it anyway.

Trabzonspor will win this tie, not only because their squad is better but because they’re able to control games and are defensively reliable. But for this leg in particular, I’d expect all-out chaos.

8pm: Rangers v PSV – Yes

This Rangers team are so enjoyable to watch. The squad are the perfect example of taking a club’s history of success and projecting that complex onto their opposition, with an inevitability of being them in the end.

That was the case in the previous round and I’d expect similar here.

Exactly the same as Ajax, PSV have begun their year winning both games, scoring nine times and shipping three. They’re not a possession-focused unit – they move at pace and back their experience to get them through games.

This will be the game of the round.
