Crouchy’s Shouts: Expect goals in Sunday’s Chelsea v Spurs clash

Crouchy makes his call on Chelsea v Spurs this Sunday

Crouchy’s Shouts for Chelsea v Tottenham

Sunday 4:30pm: Chelsea v Tottenham
TV: Sky Sports Main Event

I expect this game to really set the season alight. I know from playing in this fixture what a big rivalry it is and how intense the games and atmosphere can be – it’s almost better than the North London Derby sometimes.

It’s often be underestimated as a clash because there are so many London derbies, but these are proper games.

Tottenham will be full of confidence after a great start versus Southampton. They scored a lot of goals, Kulusevski looked great to me, and they’ve added real quality and depth this summer –  Antonio Conte only brought on some of the new signings from the bench.

If they have a few injuries now they have quality coming in. That wasn’t always the case.

Their front three could beat anyone on their day too, and they’ve now added Richarlison. as well as Perisic, Bissouma and Lenglet. That’s a top quality squad and there’s real competition for places. It looks like the manager’s building something special.

It’s hard to believe it’s only a year since they were so woeful under Nuno losing in the Europa Conference. The turnaround’s amazing.

I genuinely believe they could be the best of the rest behind Liverpool and Man City now.

NEW TO PADDY POWER NEWS?

Chelsea are their main competition for that spot, That’s why this game is so big. It’ll give us a better sense of where Chelsea are too.

It should be a more open than their trip to Everton last week, and they still have a lot of players who can hurt you given the chance despite the player turnover there..

Sterling’s a good signing and Koulibaly was impressive.at Goodison, while Thiago Silva seems to just get better and better, which should help after the departures this summer.

They have enough to put it up to anyone and I like Thomas Tuchel a lot, so you can never write them off.

Both teams on Sunday will have top attackers on display and I think there’ll be goals.

I expect them to play out a score draw with at least four goals split between the sides. Maybe Tottenham could nick it at the end – that might be my heart talking –  but I’m sure there’ll be quite a few goals scored with the talent on show.

I fancy Raheem Sterling to get off the mark for Chelsea, or to at least go close with an effort on goal, while Harry Kane’s the main man for Spurs and I fancy him to end this August nonsense around him and slow starts to the season, so I’d look at him to score or assist on Sunday.

Bentancur is probably a banker for a card if he plays. I can see Sterling nipping past him and he’ll be forced to take him down.
