Wednesday 8pm: Real Madrid v Eintracht Frankfurt
TV: BT Sport 1
Finland’s Helsinki Olympic Stadium plays host to this season’s UEFA Super Cup which will see Champions League winners Real Madrid taking on Europa League champions Eintracht Frankfurt. Real are very short odds to win the game over the 90 minutes with the Germans being pretty much written off by the market. However, we’re dug deep into the stats and form of both sides to find a value-laden four-fold Bet Builder.
Both Teams to Score
You’d have to expect Oliver Glasner’s side to come into UEFA’s curtain-raiser in the better shape; Frankfurt have played four friendlies since beating Scotland’s Rangers on penalties in Seville last May and have played a German Cup and a Bundesliga game too. Real have only played three friendlies since beating Liverpool 1-0 in Paris.
The Germans have been in fine goal-scoring from over their pre-season, netting nine over their four friendlies and scoring five over their two competitive games. Real, over their three friendlies, scored four and have only gone scoreless in two of their last 20 fixtures. Getting us off to a start here, we have to go with a Both Teams to Score pick with those stats.
Vinicius Junior to Score Anytime
Karim Benzema had one of the best seasons in his career last campaign with Los Blancos, indeed he hit his highest league tally since going pro with Lyon in 2005/06 with 27 La Liga goals as well as 17 in Cup competition. He’s quite decent odds to score anytime but we want to focus on his wingman Vinicius Junior here as his odds are more appealing. The Brazilian was a revelation last season and with a World Cup fast approaching he’s going to continue to make a name for himself to secure his place in a very competitive squad.
Last season he scored 17 La Liga goals as well as five in Cup fixtures with four coming in the Champions League. He played in all three of their friendlies and has looked sharp and against this Frankfurt side who conceded six against Bayern Munich last Friday night we think he’s going to get plenty of joy out on the left side of attack.

Casemiro to be Booked
In the betting odds, Die Adler’s Christopher Lenz is the current favourite at the time of writing to pick up a booking which is quite strange as the Berliner has only received seven bookings over his three seasons with the Eagles. No doubt that Frankfurt’s back four will be in for a stern test against the likes of Benzema, Vinicius Jnr and either one of Eden Hazard, Rodrygo or Marco Asensio coming at them but there’s one Real Madrid player who can usually be depended on to find his name in the referee’s black book.
Casemiro is an absolute soldier for Real Madrid, he chips in with goals and assists but we all know his real strength lies in breaking up the opposition’s play and as such he’s more than happy to pick up a card. Over the same period that the aforementioned Lenz has picked up seven cards our Brazilian enforcer has a tally of 42. We’re getting a lovely price here for him to pick up yet another booking here.
Real Madrid -1
While the Germans should come into this a little more match fit the fact of the matter is that Real have faced Barcelona, Mexico’s league toppers America and Juventus. The best side Frankfurt faced over their friendlies was Serie A’s Torino. Real have won eight of their last 11 European games and with the strength they have in their squad we can only see one winner here. Getting Real to Win by two or more at over Evens is packed with value.
