Union Win/Draw Double Chance
I’ll be honest with you – Union Saint-Gilloise sounds like a metro station in Luxembourg. And yet there they were last week, ripping the Europa League finalists from last year apart despite all the pre-game expectations. Luckily for Gio & Co, there’s two legs here and away goals don’t count. So actually, it’s all to play for.
If Union were to score early on, you can guarantee they’ll sit back and soak up pressure, allowing Rangers to get higher and higher. There’s markets in there specifically designed to exploit this situations and you know you can take advantage.
This Union Win/Draw Double Chance play will make more sense as I go on, but I’m unsure Rangers have the true number six to be able to get back and plug gaps when the full backs rush forward. And given the way I think the game is going to, you can be fairly sure there’ll be plenty of 4v3s for the away side as the match goes on.
Union didn’t have a whole lot going for them but their ability to switch play quite quickly was something that stood out to me. If Rangers lose the ball while trying to penetrate, they could be in serious bother.

But that’ll be late on in the game, well after Rangers have been enticed to push forward in search of an equaliser to keep the tie alive. Rangers have a huge advantage in games where the opposition will try anything to stop you playing – and that’s a set-piece specialist in James Tavernier.
Teams like Union will foul rather than have a side play around them, which is ill-advised against this Rangers side. That all make me thing we could see Rangers ahead at half time.

Over 2.5 Goals
I really don’t like backing the unders in games where a side absolutely needs two goals. Primarily because there’s no settling in period for either side – it’s hammer and tongs from the get-go and Rangers will poach.
If there’s an early goal, you’re already goosed because the dynamic of the game will heavily lend itself to a 90-minute chance-fest. So the unders might land, but you’ll have a heart attack by the time it’s over and I don’t want that on my conscious. It’s Over 2.5 Goals for me.
Over 4.5 Rangers Corners
Ever defend a lead to progress? You’ll clear the ball into touch in the most unusual of situations just out of instinct. I can foresee this level of panic, and Over 4.5 Rangers Corners is a nice little addition to the price.
