We’re taking a deep dive into the Champions League and Europa Conference League Qualifiers on Tuesday night where Wales’ The New Saints and Ireland’s Shamrock Rovers will be up against it; trailing 0-2 and 0-3 on aggregate in their respective matches.

NEW TO PADDY POWER NEWS?

Elsewhere, giant-killers Sheriff Tiraspol take on Maribor with the tie at 0-0 from the first leg while Dinamo Zagreb travel to Macedonia Champions Shkupi with the tie level at 2-2. Let’s go searching for some value in the markets.

6:00pm – Sheriff Tiraspol vs Maribor – Both Teams to Score

Sheriff have so far won one and drawn two of their Champions League games so far with Maribor sharing the same results. The away side have a slight advantage though as the Slovenian champions have played a couple of league games over the past week and a half while the Moldovian league doesn’t begin until next Saturday. The hosts have won three and drawn two of their last five competitive games while on home turf have won four and lost one, scoring nine while conceding just one with Over 2.5 Goals landing in two of those five games.

Maribor have won two, drawn two and lost one of their last five competitive games while away from home have won four and lost one, scoring 10 and conceding five, with Overs landing in three. While the hosts have a strong defence on home soil we cannot dismiss the visiting side’s away goal stats and seeing Both Teams to Score well above Evens at the time of writing means we’re getting loads of value in that market.

6.15pm – TNS vs Vikingur Reykjavik: Vikingur Reykjavik to Win

The Saints will be hopeful that they can use home advantage here to turn their Conference League tie around and advance to the next round where they’ll be facing Poland’s Lech Poznan. The hosts, however, have won just two of their last five fixtures, drawing one (losing it in Extra Time) and losing two. Those games include two friendlies. If we look at competitive games only they’ve won three, drawn one (losing it in ET) and lost one over their last five while on home soil have won four and lost one of their last five competitive games played at Park Hall.

Vikingur have won three, drawn one and lost one of their last five fixtures and have won five of their last six on their travels, three of which were European games, losing the other one. They’re also 13 games into their league season in Iceland while the Welsh side have played just three competitive games since their league season ended in May. The travelling side scored a whopping 21 goals over those six away games and conceded just four, keeping four clean sheets. As much as most neutrals from these islands would like to see the Welsh side progressing the fact is they’ve only scored one goal over their three games so far and with the away side in great goal-scoring form we have to take them on the value price here.

8pm: Shamrock Rovers vs Ludogorets: Both Teams to Score

It’s fair to say that Rovers got a bit of a hiding in their first leg, registering just one Shot on Target for the 90 minutes away to Bulgarian champions Ludogorets. The Irish champions have won two of their last five fixtures, drawing two and losing one while on home soil have won four and drawn one, scoring eight and conceding just one.

The away side have won five of their last six games, drawing the other one, winning all three of their previous Champions League qualifiers. Away from home have won four and drawn one of their last five competitive games, scoring nine and conceding just three. The hosts have little choice but to go for it here but the away side have been pretty sharp in front of goal of late; with that in mind the best value here is in backing both teams to get on the scoresheet.

8pm: Shkupi vs Dinamo Zagreb: Dinamo Zagreb to Win & Over 1.5 Goals

Dinamo Zagreb are very short odds to win the second leg here after drawing the first one 2-2 at home. They really should make light work of Shkupi who beat Gibraltar’s Lincoln Red Imps 3-2 on aggregate in the previous round. The hosts have won two of their last five competitive games, drawing two and losing one while at home have won four and drawn one over their last five, not including friendlies.

Zagreb have won three and drawn two (winning one on penalties) over their last five competitive games while on their travels have won three, drawn one and lost one, scoring nine and conceding three. The hosts have scored 12 over their last five at home though and gave the Croatians a fright a week ago and will be confident of making things tough on them here. All that being said, the away side are by far the stronger of the two and we think we’re looking at a 0-2, 1-2 scoreline here so we’re backing Dinamo Zagreb to Win & Over 1.5 Goals.
