Sunday night is looming into view which means it’s time for another continent-crossing acca to hopefully help us see out the weekend in style. In this edition our action comes from North and South America, specifically USA and Brazil.

NEW TO PADDY POWER NEWS?

It’s a hearty blend of one of the grandest footballing nations against another that’s really starting to find its feet. Either way there will be some decent stuff on display so let’s see if we can double that up with some winning value on Sunday evening.

8pm: Atlanta v Orlando City – BTTS & Over 2.5 Goals

We kick off in MLS with Atlanta United v Orlando City. The home side are 10th in the Eastern Conference after 19 games, five places below their visitors who have six points more and have played a game more.

This is a tricky one to call as both sides have decent home and away record respectively. They’re both in pretty shoddy form though, with three wins in their last 10 combined games. I think backing goals is the way to go here as Austin’s games see plenty.

In their last five games Over 2.5 Goals has landed 100% of the time and, going further back, it’s clicked in 11 of their last 12 with both teams scoring in 10 of those. Orlando are a lot more reserved with Overs landing in two of their last five but we’ll back Atlanta to play the game their way on home soil and for Both Teams to Score and Over 2.5 Goals to land once more.

8pm: Sao Paulo v Fluminense – Fluminense to Win

Our first Brazilian Serie A game sees the in-form Fluminense heading to Sao Paulo. The hosts are 7th, two places and four points below their guests on Sunday evening.

Fluminense will be looking for their 5th win on the bounce in the league while Sao Paulo are trying to work their way back into form. They’ve won just two of their last 10 games, losing two and drawing six.

Sao Paulo’s recent score lines read like binary code while Flu’s form has been mostly built on a superb defence. They’ve conceded just one goal in their last five matches so I think they’ll have enough to keep a clean sheet on the way to victory. Fluminense to Win is the pick and it could be absolutely jam packed with value here.

10pm: Botafogo v Atletico Mineiro – Mineiro to Win

Later on in Serie A it’s Botafogo in 10th welcoming Atletico Mineiro who sit 4th to Estádio Nilton Santos. Mineiro are rock solid and you have to go back nine matches to find their last defeat in any competition and that was away at the aforementioned Fluminense.

Botafogo are boom or bust and they’ve lost or won each of their last nine but, unfortunately for them, that run only includes three wins. However, they’ve all come in their last five games so they could be on the up.

Botafogo’s home form is terrible and they’ve only taken seven points in front of their own fans from seven games this term. Most of Atletico’s best form has come at home but they’re taken more points on the road than their opponents have at home so we’ll round off with Atletico Mineiro to Win.

10pm: NY Red Bulls v New York FC – Under 2.5 Goals

TV: Sky Sports Football

We’ll finish with a game on the telly and that’s the Big Apple derby between New York Red Bulls and New York City FC and, on paper, this is an absolute thigh rubber. These two are 3rd and 2nd in the Eastern Conference and just two points separate them.

It’s not just local bragging rights on offer as the top of the league is tantalisingly within reach for both as well. NYC have lost just one of their last 14 games while Red Bulls have won three of their last five, drawing one and losing the other.

I’ve said this should be a good match but a quick glance at their recent previous encounters throws water on that a little. three of the last five have ended 1-0 with a 1-1 and the outlier, a 5-2 win for NYC completing the set.

NYC have been scoring and conceding loads while the Red Bulls like to keep it much tighter. We’ll side with their method to prevail and for their recent form against each other to continue with Under 2.5 Goals.
