NEW TO PADDY POWER NEWS?

Saturday night we’re spoiled for fixtures from MLS where there are some mouthwatering matches on offer. We’ve gone through all of them with our value-toothed fine comb and found a five-fold Acca that’s absolutely bursting with it. Let’s get right into it.

0.30am: Montreal v Toronto – Montreal to Win

An all-Canadian clash gets us started here. The hosts are currently in 4th position in the Western Conference with Toronto sitting way down in 13th. Neither are in the greatest of form though. Montreal have won just two of their last five games in the league, losing the other three while on home soil share the same record of two wins and three losses, scoring eight and conceding nine with Over 2.5 goals and Both Teams to Score landing in four.

The travelling side have won one, drawn one and lost three of their five most previous league encounters but have lost four and drawn one over their last five on their league jaunts, scoring just two and conceding nine. With their superior goals record and having won this fixture over the last three meetings at the Stade Saputo we have to go with the home side to win here.

0.30am: Philadelphia vs New England – Over 2.5 Goals

Philadelphia are top of the Eastern Conference with 36 points after 20 league matches and have won three of their last five MLS fixtures, drawing one and losing one while on home soil have won two and drawn three. The hosts are favourites here but that home record of dropping points would have to make us cautious.

The Revs have only won one of their last five MLS encounters, drawing three and losing one. Their away league record is quite good though with two wins, two draws and a loss. They have a decent record when visiting Philly too, winning two of their last four fixtures at Subaru Park, drawing one and losing one.

It’s goals we should be looking at here. Union have netted 11 over their last five at home while New England have scored nine over their last five on their travels. Both Teams to Score then looks pretty much nailed on but with those scoring records, as well as the Rev’s strong record here and the host’s position at the top of the league, we should see at least three so we’re backing Over 2.5 Goals.

1am: Minnesota v DC United – BTTS & Over 2.5 Goals

Fifth-placed in the Western Conference, Minnesota take on bottom-placed Eastern Conference side DC United here. The hosts are in decent shape having won three of their last five fixtures, drawing one and losing one while at Allianz Field things haven’t been quite so good with just one win over their last five home MLS fixtures, drawing two and losing two, scoring five and conceding six.

DC are in bad shape, winning just one of their last five in the league, drawing one and losing three and share the same record on the road, scoring eight and conceding 17. This will be new manager Wayne Rooney’s first game in charge of the Black and Reds and his first job will be to sort out that leaky defence but that’s going to take some time. With both teams scoring and conceding plenty of late then the best value here is in backing goals, Both Teams To Score and Over 2.5 Goals has the best price here.

2am: Colorado Rapids v LA Galaxy – Under 2.5 Goals

TV: Premier Sports 2

Neither side have been in good form of late and will see this match as their chance to take a valuable three points. The Rapids have drawn three and lost two of their last five fixtures while at home have won two, drawn one and lost two, scoring seven and conceding seven. The Galaxy have won just one of their last five in the MLS, drawing one and losing three while on the road have won one, drawn two and lost two, scoring four and conceding five.

Over 2.5 goals has only been seen in 30% of Colorado’s home league games this season and in 38% of away Galaxy matches and in just three of their last 10 combined home/away games. Getting Under 2.5 Goals at this price is screaming value to me.

La Galaxy stadium

2am: FC Dallas v Austin FC – Austin Win/Draw Double Chance

The hosts are favourites here even though they’ve now gone six MLS games without a victory where they’ve drawn three and lost three. On home soil they’ve won just one of their last five MLS games, drawing one and losing three, scoring just four goals and conceding six.

Austin are top of the Western Conference with 40 points over their 20 league games and are unbeaten over their last six league encounters, winning five and drawing one. Away from home they’ve been in robust form too, winning four of their last five, losing the other one, scoring nine and conceding six.

The hosts are in awful shape and we should be backing the visitors. However, this is a derby match and Dallas will be desperate not to lose here so let’s take some insurance knowing that the visitors are the better side with Austin to Win/Draw in the Double Chance market.
