And we’re off. Sure, the actual start of the Premier League season might be about three weeks away but nothing says ‘football is coming’ like Manchester United v Liverpool in Bangkok at 2pm on a Tuesday.

While this might pass over even the most ardent supporter, there is genuine interest from the United side with their latest messiah, Erik ten Hag, set to take charge of his first game as the club’s manager. Will he have an instant impact or will it be the same old? Here’s some flutters for your Tuesday lunchtime treat.

2pm: Manchester United v Liverpool

Liverpool to Win

The cold, hard fact of the matter is that Liverpool could pretty much send out the Under 18s and have a good chance of beating their old rivals at the moment. Their cohesion from squad No.1 to No.99 is on a different planet compared to the ongoing shambles at United.

Throw into the mix the new manager element, that the Red Devils will still be trying to get used to Ten Hag’s methods, and you can see Liverpool overrunning them in the midfield and picking up lots of misplaced passes. Liverpool to win is surely the way to play here.

1 or More Goals in Each Half & 4 or More Corners in Each Half

I’ll dip my toe into the #WhatOddsPaddy markets next and I like the look of 1 or More Goals in Each Half & 4 or More Corners in Each Half. This could be quite a painful experience for United given all the elements outlined above.

However, they could come flying out of the blocks in a bid to impress their new manager and actually try and take it to Jurgen Klopp and Co. Either way there’s a good chance we see a goal in each half and at least four corners either side of the half-time whistle.

Half Time, Full Time: Liverpool/Liverpool

Doubling down on the two bets outlined above and I’m leaning toward Liverpool having the better of this from the first to the last whistle. You can just picture [insert literally any United player] giving it away on the edge of their own box and Mo Salah slotting it into the bottom corner after five minutes and things spiraling from there.

If this Ten Hag revolution is as far-reaching as we’re led to believe it’s going to be a painful process for the Red Devils and they’ll be attempting to restyle their game against the worst-possible opponent to experiment against. I expect The Reds to make hay here so Half Time, Full Time: Liverpool/Liverpool is a really nice price.
