NEW TO PADDY POWER NEWS?

Wednesday night’s football acca finds us trawling through the Champions League Qualifiers and Scottish League Cup fixtures as we search for value. We’ve gone through all of the fixtures on offer to find four value picks for a very juicy midweek Acca that could wash away those hump day blues.

Let’s have a look at what we’ve turned up in the markets…

7pm: Ferencvaros v Topol – Ferencvaros Win & BTTS

Hungarian champions Ferencvaros could only manage a 0-0 in their first leg away to their Kazak counterparts Topol last week. The home side have been pretty crafty over their pre-season friendlies taking on Bulgarian champions Ludogorets and Bundesliga II side Karlsruhe recently and winning both. They’re quite short odds to win here and the difference in quality should be pretty evident and, over their last eight home competitive games, they have won six, drawing one and losing one.

Topol are a decent outfit though, in front of goal especially, as they’ve only gone scoreless once in all 15 of their most recent games (none of which were friendlies). On their travels their results aren’t great with just one win over their last eight on the road but they scored 10 goals over those eight fixtures and we think we’re getting some great value here in backing Ferencvaros to Win and Both Teams To Score.

7.45pm: Linfield v The New Saints – Both Teams to Score

TNS have also been smart about their pre-season friendlies, knowing they were to face Linfield to progress in European competition they pitted themselves against two other Northern Irish teams, Cliftonville and Larne, where they beat the former and lost to the latter. The visitors hold the advantage of a 0-1 aggregate lead going into this game and have scored 11 goals over their five most recent fixtures while on their travels have won three, drawn one and lost one, scoring eight and conceding six.

The hosts have won two, drawn one and lost one of their last five matches while at Windsor Park have won one, drawn three and lost one, scoring four and conceding just three. If we dismiss friendly results though we see an improvement in form with three wins and two draws and 11 goals scored and just three conceded. The away side are full of goals but the Northern Irish champions are a tough nut to crack at home but both teams’ respective scoring records the best value here is in backing both to get at least one here and for Both Teams to Score.

7.45pm: Aberdeen v Dumbarton – Under 3.5 Goals

Aberdeen began their 2022/23 season with a 0-2 away win over Peterhead in their first Group A League Cup game. The Premiership side are very short odds to take another three points here against League Two side Dumbarton. The Sons opened their season with a 1-2 home loss to Stirling Albion and have now won just one of their last six competitive games, drawing one and losing four.

On their travels they’ve lost five of their last six competitive games, winning just one, scoring nine and conceding 16. Dons’ home games don’t tend to see many goals though, only two of their last seven played at Pittodrie have seen Over 2.5 goals landing where they scored just seven and conceded six.

The market is predicting a goalfest here thanks to Dumbarton’s leaky defence on the road but Aberdeen’s lack of firepower, along with their stingy defence, means opposing goals is where the value is. Getting Under 3.5 Goals is where our money’s going here.

7.45pm: Kilmarnock v Partick Thistle – Over 2.5 Goals

Kilmarnock have had a very good pre-season with four wins and a draw over their five games and opened their 2022/23 campaign with a 1-3 win away to Fraserburgh. Championship side Partick Thistle opened their campaign with a 1-2 away win over Stenhousemuir and won both of their two pre-season friendlies too.

Killie, last season’s Championship winners, finished their campaign strongly at home, winning six of their last seven league games, losing the other one, scoring 14 and conceding five. The Jags have won two and lost three of their last five on their competitive travels, scoring five and conceding seven and indeed lost 1-0 away to Kilmarnock in one of their final away games of the previous season.

The hosts have scored at least two goals in all five of their most recent home competitive games but with the away side scoring five over their last five away competitive games we should see goals here. With those stats Over 2.5 Goals has the value here.
