Sunday night can only mean on thing – another continent-crossing acca for us to get stuck into. This edition features women’s Euro 2022 action as well as some big games from Argentina and Brazil.

NEW TO PADDY POWER NEWS?

It’s France v Italy in Europe and we’ll be giving Racing Club v Independiente a good shakedown from the Argentine top flight. We’ve also got two games from Brazil where Corinthians host Flamengo at 8pm before Fortaleza tackle Palmeiras two hours later. Let’s go get it.

7.30pm: Racing Club v Independiente – Racing to Win

So, we kick off with the Argentinian Primera Division and a clash between Racing Club in 6th and Independiente who are way down in 19th. Now into the second phase of the season, these two have played just six games so far. Racing have won three out of three on home soil in the second phase while Independiente have taken just one point from their three games on the road.

Overall the hosts have won three, drawn one and lost two. For Independiente it’s two wins a draw and three losses over the same timeframe. Given those two form lines and where the game’s being played we have to be on Racing Club to Win.

8pm: Corinthians v Flamengo – BTTS? No & Under 2.5 Goals

Hopping across the border to Brazil next for the first of our Serie A matches and it’s two of the Samba big shots in the shape of Corinthians v Flamengo. Corinthians are 4th on 26 after 15 games, four places and five points above their visitors.

In their last five domestic league matches, Corinthians have won two, drawn two and lost one, last time out away at Fluminense. For their part, Flamengo have won three and lost two (both coming away from home) in their last five Serie A matches.

However, there’s been a lot of cup action going on recently in South America and overall the hosts have drawn four of their last six while Flamengo have won five of their games over the same period. Crucially the goals have dried up for Coringão recently and they’ve fired a blank in each of their last five games so I think we’re getting a fair price on Both Teams To Score? No and Under 2.5 Goals.

8pm: France v Italy – Under 2.5 Goals

Back closer to home here for a big game at Euro 2022 where powerhouse nations France and Italy kick off their campaigns. France are big favourites but, looking at some of Italy’s recent results, they might not have things all their own way.

Les Bleues are in sensational form and have won each of their last 14 games. Le Azzurre’s record is not as impressive but they’ve got a couple of credible draws against some of the brighter lights in the women’s game of late. They’ve won three and drawn two of their last five, earning stalemates against Euro 2022 favourites Spain and the well-fancied Sweden.

France are too short to back to win here and instead I’ll take on Under 2.5 Goals. It’s clicked in three of Italy’s last four games and, with what’s on the line here, I think we can back them to keep things tight once again.

10pm: Fortaleza v Palmeiras – Palmeiras Win & Over 2.5 Goals

We finish with a bottom v top clash in Brail, Fortaleza against Palmeiras, and the away side are obviously Paddy’s favourites to triumph here. Verdão have lost just one of their last 21 in all competitions, drawing five and winning the rest, while the home side have won five of their 23 games this term.

There have been plenty of goals when these two have stepped onto the pitch recently with Over 2.5 of them in four of Fortaleza’s last five while Palmeiras have seen Overs in five of their last six. Fortaleza are bottom of the league and shouldn’t be able to resist such a good side in great nick so Palmeiras to Win and Over 2.5 Goals should have a great chance.
