With the start of UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 just around the corner, here at PP News we’ve got you covered with a little nugget of wisdom on every team’s star player.

So, for example. Leah Williamson (England) to have an assist, Marie-Antoinette Katoto (France) to score four or more goals, Ines Pereira (Portugal) to save a penalty in the group stages, and a goal scored in the first 60 seconds of any game in the tournament tallies up at 50/1 for a four-leg acca.

England – Leah Williamson
The England captain plays as a centre-back for Arsenal, but will be deployed in central midfield for the national side due to her excellent passing ability. She has made four assists in her last five competitive matches for club and country. Expect that run to continue with her playing higer up the pitch. Our bet is Leah Williamson to Assist 1 or More Goals in the Tournament.
Austria – Manuela Zinsberger
Arsenal’s goalkeeper had an 80% save percentage in the league last season. She has won league titles in Austria and Germany and will hope to win one in England next season but before that will be fully focused on keeping some clean sheets to help Austria advance at least beyond the group stages. Will Zinsberger help Austria to have 1 or More Clean Sheets in the Group Stage?
Northern Ireland – Simone Magill
The hard-working forward has 21 goals in 70 caps since making her debut at 15. One of those goals was scored against Georgia after just 11 seconds – for which she holds the world record for the fastest international goal in women’s football. There’s long odds on A Goal to be Scored in the First 60 Seconds of Any Game in the Tournament.
Norway – Ada Hegerberg
She’s one of the most exciting players to watch this tournament. In 2018 Hegerberg was the first-ever recipient of the Ballon d’Or Féminin, she holds the record for most goals in a UEFA Women’s Champions League season (15) and all-time highest goalscorer in the competition (59).
Earlier this year, Hegerberg ended her five-year exile from the national team (think Roy Keane in Saipan). On her first game back she scored a hat-trick in a 5–1 win against Kosovo (something Keano didn’t manager…). Can Norway’s number 14 Ada Hegerberg Score a Hat-trick in Normal Time Any Game?
Group B
Germany – Lea Schuller
The 24-year-old won this year’s German Golden Boot and has an incredible international goalscoring rate with 25 goals in 38 caps. Germany have an exceptionally experienced coach in Martina Voss-Tecklenburg and they’ll be expected to go far, but first they must get out of the group.
They’ll play a 4-3-3 and create lots of chances but they need a player to finish them and given Bayern Munich ace Schuller’s goal scoring exploits she should be the go-to option. We’re liking the look of Lea Schuller to score 3 or more goals in the group stages.
Denmark – Pernille Harder
Harder is considered one of the best women’s footballers around, and has won UEFA Women’s Player of the Year twice, and has played a significant role in Chelsea’s recent success.
Denmark finished as runners up in the 2017 Euros, losing to the Netherlands 4-2 in the final, and Harder will be hoping her country go one better this time round. They will find it a lot harder (pun fully intended) to qualify from a group including Spain and Germany. Can the striker help Denmark to qualify from Group B?
Spain – Alexia Putellas
If you are wondering who is the one player that can light up a tournament like a Lionel Messi, Zinedine Zidane or Luka Modric then here is your answer. Alexia Putellas is capable of individual moments of brilliance, is the current Ballon d’Or holder, scored 27 goals in 33 games from centre midfield for Barcelona this season and finished as Champions League Top Goalscorer.
Putellas is definitely our number one one to watch for the tournament. So we’ve priced up Alexia Putellas to score 4 or more goals in the tournament.
Finland – Linda Sallstrom
Sallstrom has endured three ACL injuries in her career and to still be playing at this level is testament to her desire and determination. She has over 100 caps for her country and is still producing the goods, finnish-ing (see what we did there) with 10 goals in qualifying.
In 2005, the last time England hosted the Women’s European Championships, Finland reached the semi-final stage. They are certainly up against it to repeat that feat, with Germany, Spain and Denmark in their ‘Group of Death’, but Finland with Sallstrom leading the line to put up a strong fight. Will she help Finland to score 3 or more tournament goals?
Group C
Netherlands – Lieke Martens
Martens averaged one assist per game for Barcelona this season – an incredible stat. Combine that with her playing alongside one of the best strikers at Euro 2022 in Vivianne Miedema and more chance creation looks highly likely.
Martens will put them on a plate and Miedema is clinical enough to make Lieke Martens to assist 2 or more goals in the tournament an interesting selection to include for all Netherlands matches.
Sweden – Fridolina Rolfo
Rolfo has had an incredible season for Barcelona, including three goals and five assists in the Champions League. She will be playing a more advanced role for Sweden and note when she hits them with her deadly left foot, they stay hit. Think Julian Dicks, but technically better. We’re offering Fridolina Rolfo to have 6 or more Shots On Target in the tournament.
Portugal – Ines Pereira
Portugal will be up against it and are a double-figure price to qualify from Group C. They got in after Russia’s suspension from the tournament, and will be missing former captain Claudia Neto who retired in September. Therefore, there will be plenty of pressure on Ines Pereira in between the sticks. She will be busy, but is an excellent shot stopper and saved a penalty for Swiss side Servette against Juventus in the group stages of this season’s Champions League. Our Portuguese special is Ines Pereira to save a penalty in the group stages.
Switzerland – Ana Maria Crnogorcevic
Ana Maria Crnogorcevic has a very good international goalscorer record averaging 0.58 goals in her last 10 matches but Switzerland are unlikely to qualify out of their group. If you want an interest in their games then Crnogorcevic to have couple of shots on target is a decent way to go. We’ve priced up Ana Maria Crnogorcevic have 3 or more Shots On Target in the group games.
Group D
France – Marie-Antoinette Katoto
The 23-year-old has already become PSG’s all-time leading women’s goalscorer having claimed three of the last four Golden Boot’s in France’s D1 Feminine. Katoto is just as clinical for her National side with 24 goals in under 30 pre-tournament caps. So we’ve priced up odds on Marie-Antoinette Katoto to score 4 or more goals in the tournament.
Italy – Valentina Cernoia
Valentina Cernoia registered six assists in Serie A this season, the third-most in the competition and more than any of her Juventus team-mates. In recent World Cup Qualifiers she has provided four assists in six games.
Cernoia is adept at playing a number of positions wide or central in midfield and up front and therefore should be in the right place to assist in this tournament. Fancy Valentina Cernoia to assist 1 or more goals in the tournament?
Belgium – Tessa Wullaert
Wullaert will captain Belgium into Euro 2022 and much of the creative responsibility will rest on her shoulders. She is the all-time leading goalscorer for the national side and will look to add at least one more goal here. Our bet is for Tressa Wullaert to score at least 1 goal in the tournament.
Iceland – Svendis Jane Jonsdottir
She stands out as Iceland’s most exciting prospect and has shown glimpses of her quality for Wolfsburg in this year’s Champions League, providing two assists in four games. The 21-year-old is now a regular starter for Iceland and has registered three goals and an assist in six World Cup qualifiers. That’s why we’re offering Svendis Jane Jonsdottir to score at least 1 goal in the tournament.
