As ever in the European post-season, we have to look further afield for betting value. Luckily, there’s plenty of footie action still taking place in the Americas.

NEW TO PADDY POWER NEWS?

We’re off to Brazil, where seven-time Serie A champions Corinthians travel to face top six side Fluminense, and Neymar’s old side Santos host Flamengo. Later on, we cast an eye over to the MLS, where Canadian side Toronto welcome a team with one of the worst chants in world football, Seattle ‘fight and win’ Sounders.

Let’s get in to the bets…

Fluminense v Corinthians – Draw

20:30

Fluminense have the worst home record inside the top 10 of the Brazilian Serie A, having lost three times at home in their seven matches at the famous Maracana stadium – so being at home isn’t necessarily an advantage for the Rio-based side.

By contrast, second-placed side Corinthians have taken 11 points on the road this season and have lost just once in their last 11, with five draws in there.

These are two of the division’s better quality sides, with both occupying the top six, and separated by just five points. We can’t see that changing come Saturday night, and are backing a draw when these to face off.

Santos v Flamengo – Santos To Win

23:00

Santos have scored the fourth-most number of goals at home this season, bagging 12 in their seven games. They’re also unbeaten in their last six games. They’ve put a couple of teams to the sword at the Urbano Caldeira Stadium, recording a 3-0 win against America Mineiro and a 4-1 victory win Cuiaba came to Sao Paulo.

That’s in stark contrast to a Flamengo side who hate leaving Rio de Janeiro, picking up only one win and five points on the road so far this season. They come into this clash on the back of three consecutive away losses, scoring just once in that time. So, we’re backing a Santos win.

Toronto FC v Seattle Sounders – Both Teams To Score

00:30 (Sunday 3rd July)

The last game of the night is beamed in from the MLS, as Toronto are looking to overcome their poor spell of form against Western Conference side Seattle – with the home side having lost seven of their last 10 games.

In Toronto’s 17 games this season, both teams to score has come through in 13 of those, including in each of the last three games that they’ve played at BMO Field.

The Sounders currently occupy a play-off position in their half of the league, after taking 10 points from their last five games – all of which were at home. They’re not quite so strong away from Lumen Field, though, picking up just seven points on the road, at an average of a point per game. But, in their last six away games, both teams to score has come through on three occasions.

With all that in mind, we’re backing a simple Both Teams To Score bet for Saturday night’s late kick off.
