Belgium are currently ranked the lowest of all Group D sides, there are no great expectations on this team. The young squad have made significant progress in recent years and recent World Cup qualifiers included a 19-0 win over Armenia.
They will look to their opening game against Iceland as one in which they can pick up a win. Our trader Rob Jones takes you through what else to expect.

Manager – Ives Serneels
Ives Serneels took the reins in 2011 and has been widely credited for developing the standard of the Women’s game in this time. Qualification for Euro 2017 was a historic moment and they followed this up with an impressive qualification campaign for the 2019 World Cup, just missing out in a playoff.
Captain – Tessa Wullaert
Tessa Wullaert is her country’s all-time leading goalscorer with 65 goals and is one of the most experienced members of the squad and one of the most important creative outlets. She contributed 15 goals and 10 assists in recent World Cup qualifiers and will look to make her mark here on the big stage.
Star Player – Tine De Caigny
Tine De Caigny was the top scorer with 12 goals during qualifiers for this European Championship and has 10 to her name so far in recent World Cup qualifiers. She’s coming off the back of an impressive debut season in Germany’s top flight and will be key to any success this Belgian side have.
