Paddy Power ambassador Phil Thompson will surely be checking what side his bread’s buttered on as Ireland prepare to face Scotland in the Nations League on Saturday. Stephen Kenny’s side are back in action and are looking to turn around a poor run of form which has seen them lose their last two.
Scotland have been up and down but they head to The Aviva as slight favourites on the back of a 2-0 win over Armenia. Ireland lost 1-0 to Armenia earlier in this international window so it looks like Scotland should be the pick. Will Thommo agree? Here’s his Ireland v Scotland tips.
I think this will be very tight. You look at the two attacks, I know Scotland won the other day against Armenia 2-0, but you don’t see a lot of goals in these two sides.
A lot of people will be going for Unders in this game, I can see why. But, again, Ireland from having a little bit of a decent run they’ve now lost against Ukraine and Armenia. It doesn’t sit well.
Scotland would have liked to reverse their results, they would have liked to have beaten Ukraine and they would have happily got beaten by Armenia, but it wasn’t to be. Scotland have won the last three competitive away games so I do fancy them in this.
Football Tips: Thommo’s best bets for Ireland v Scotland with a 6/1 shout

I think it’s going to be tight, I fancy Scotland to Win by the odd goal, I think it will be 1-0 to Scotland so Scotland to Win to Nil. I think maybe Che Adams will Score First and come up trumps in this one.
Ireland v Scotland tips
Scotland to Win
Scotland to Win 1-0
Scotland to Win to Nil
Che Adams to Score Anytime
