Another day another round of Nations League clashes. If you’re struggling to keep up we’re looking at Thursday’s action here and Portugal v Czech Republic.
NEW TO PADDY POWER NEWS?
These two have both won one and drawn one in League A Group B which is pretty good going against Switzerland and Spain, the other two teams in this pot. This game will go a long way to deciding the outcome of this group as both have beaten the Swiss and secured score draws with the Spanish so far.
It’s a very close game in terms of recent form, but there’s no denying Cristiano Ronaldo and Co posses terrifying firepower. They’ve also secured slightly better results then their opponents here. A one-sided affair? Let’s try and work it out through the medium of a Bet Builder.

Thursday 7.45pm: Portugal v Czech Republic

Portugal to Win
I mentioned that Portugal had recorded slightly better results against the other teams in this group and I’m specifically referring to Switzerland. Portugal blitzed them 4-0 while the Czechs needed and own goal to triumph 2-1.
Czech Republic then had to settle for a 2-2 draw against Spain with their opponents scoring a 90th-minute equaliser. Portugal drew 1-1 with their neighbours and this time it was them who needed a late goal to earn a point.
But you just look at the squads and, while the Czechs have done really well of late in terms of results, Portugal’s starting XI is scary. On home soil I can see them taking a grip on the group with a Portugal Win.
Jan Kuchta to Score Or Assist
One man who has been key to the Czechs’ recent success is Jan Kuchta. The Lokomotiv Moscow striker is in a real hot streak and has bagged two in their last two matches.
I have a feeling the away side will net in this one as the defence is the host’s weakness. He’s the most likely to be involved if they are to score based on recent form. Jan Kuchta to Score Or Assist is a handy price.
Cristiano Ronaldo to Score 2 or More Goals
We’re getting decent odds on Cristiano Ronaldo to Score 2 or More Goals as well. The Manchester United man never shies away from the limelight and he’ll fancy his chances of racking up a few against a technically inferior opponent.
He’s clearly in the mood and, after coming off the bench in the first game of the international window, plundered two against the Swiss last time out. He’s never on the beach so Cristiano Ronaldo to Score 2 or More Goals could be a good play, especially with all the set pieces thrown into the mix.
Over 2.5 Goals
All of this means I think we’re in few a few goals in Lisbon on Thursday night. The Czechs have already seen seven goals across their two games since the domestic club season ended and it’s six in two for Portugal with Unders landing only once in their four combined games.
Portugal might pass this Over 2.5 Goals market by themselves, given the amazing attacking talents they’ll have on the pitch. I do fancy Czech Republic to net as well so it could be a bit of a barnburner on Thursday night.
