Paddy Power ambassador Phil Thompson is back in the starting XI for Wednesday’s international action and it’s all about the Nations League. We’ve got Ireland, Scotland and Wales all in action with all three sides coming here with wildly contrasting emotions following their last results.
NEW TO PADDY POWER NEWS?
It’s Wales v The Netherlands, Ireland v Ukraine and Scotland v Armenia. There’s a lot of plot in these games with many having faced each other recently, so can Thommo work out a winner in each? Here’s Thommo’s Wednesday night football tips.
Thommo’s Wednesday treble
The worry for Wales coming into this game is, who do they rest? It was a massive game against Ukraine and I thought they were very lucky. I thought Ukraine had all the chances.
Yes, Wales had a couple of chances themselves but I thought Ukraine were by far the better team. Holland come into this one off a 4-1 win against Belgium which is quite astonishing, so we’re seeing a reemergence of this Dutch side. I really fancy Holland to cruise this one. I think The Netherlands will Win.
That Armenia result was a bitter blow for Ireland, they’ll be really disappointed with it. There were a lot of strange results last weekend with these first Nations League games.
I really liked the way Ukraine played against Wales and I think they’ll be up for it a little more after losing. If they’d qualified for the World Cup they would have been absolutely flying. I’m going to go for Ukraine to Win this game.
Armenia got away with that one against Ireland, I really think so. Scotland losing out to Ukraine and not going to the World Cup, I think they’ll want to give this a good go. I think they’ll have a nice easy ride in this so Scotland to Win. So, Netherlands, Ukraine and Scotland all to Win will give us a nice treble for Wednesday night.
