Friday night promises a cracking night of top quality football at 7.45pm. With the likes of Belgium, France, Netherlands and Croatia all in action in League A we should see plenty of goals and some high-octane creative football.

WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

We’ll be looking for value in the Derby der Lage Landen when Roberto Martinez’s Belgium take on Louis van Gaal’s Netherlands in Brussels. In Osijek, Croatia are at home to Austria while France face Denmark in Paris. We’ll also be looking at a League C game when Belarus take on Slovakia in Novi Sad in Serbia.

Belarus v Slovakia – Slovakia to Win

TV: Premier Extra

Belarus have won three of their last five fixtures, losing the other two. It must be pointed out that those three wins were against Jordan, India and Bahrain, so, really they count for very little. This match has been moved to Serbia for obvious reasons which will certainly give an advantage to the Slovakians.

We’re likely to see plenty of away fans here too as Novi Sad is just a four-five hour drive from Slovakia while Belarusians are pretty much banned from leaving the country. The Slovaks have won two, drawn two and lost one of their last five fixtures and against a side who have lost all eight of their most recent games against European opposition. There’s only going to be one choice here, Slovakia to Win.

Belgium v Netherlands – BTTS & Over 2.5 Goals

TV: Premier Sports 1

In one of the longest-standing football rivalries in world football Belgium and Netherland have faced off 127 times over their history with the Belgians winning 41, the Dutch winning 55 and 31 ending level with an average of 3.93 goals per game. Both sides are in good shape, Belgium have won two, drawn two and lost one of their last five fixtures while on Belgian soil have won four and drawn one of their last five, scoring 12 and conceding just one.

The visitors have won three and drawn two of their last five games while their away record also reads as three wins and two draws, scoring 14 and conceding three. With two teams in such ripe goal-scoring form the market is piling into the Both Teams to Score market but we can squeeze some extra value out of it here. With both teams scoring at least two goals in three of their last five home/away games and in at least three of their last five overall fixtures too we’re likely to see a third or fourth goal here. We’re backing Both Teams To Score and Over 2.5 Goals for this one.

Croatia v Austria – Croatia to Win

TV: Premier Extra

Since the markets opened the price on Croatia to Win has been steadily dropping and we’re expecting it to come in even more as kickoff approaches on Friday night. Zlatko Dalic’s Croatia haven’t lost a single game since their 3-5 defeat to Spain in last summer’s Euros, a run of nine games where they’ve won six and drawn three. On home soil they’ve won three and drawn two over their last five, scoring nine and conceding four.

Austria have won two, drawn one and lost two of their last five fixtures while on their travels have won two, beating Moldova and Faroe Islands, and lost three, to Israel, Denmark and Wales. The Austrians have a decent squad and this will be former Man United interim manager Ralk Rangnick’s first game at the helm of the national side and while he won’t have the egos of United’s dressing room to keep in check he’s unlikely to have had time to work some magic on a squad short on confidence. We’re backing Croatia to Win here before the value in their odds drops further.

France v Denmark – France to Win & Over 1.5 Goals

TV: BoxNation

France are undefeated over their last nine fixtures, winning seven and drawing two and on French soil have won six of their last seven played there, drawing the other one. Over 2.5 goals was witnessed in five of those games. Denmark won’t be much fancied here, they’ve won three of their last five fixtures, losing the other two while on their away jaunts have won two, drawing one (losing it in ET) and losing two.

This should have a ‘French win’ written all over it and it’s worth mentioning here that the hosts have scored at least two goals in all six of those home victories. The Danes though have scored a decent amount over recent away fixtures, with eight goals to their name, so could make a slight dent here but we’re likely looking at a 2-0, 2-1, or 3-0 and above scoreline here. With that in mind we’re getting a pretty decent price here for Le Bleus to Win and Over 1.5 Goals.
