Louis Van Gaal’s Netherlands remain unbeaten since crashing out of Euro 2020 against Czech Republic last summer. The Dutch have won six and drawn three games since that surprise defeat, scoring an impressive 27 goals at a rate of three per game.

The Draw
It is hard to tell how seriously either side will treat Friday’s fixture so soon after the end of a long club season, but both will surely hope to get off to a strong start in their Nations League campaigns. They are likely to battle it out for top spot in Group A4 and it wouldn’t be surprising to see them share the spoils on Friday night with a Draw.
Both teams to score
The Dutch have scored in every game since that defeat to Czech Republic and have scored in all but one of their last 22 games in a run of fixtures stretching back to October 2020. That run is unlikely to end on Friday against a Belgian side that has conceded in five of their last six games and six of their nine games since Euro 2020.
Belgium have conceded 11 goals in their last nine games, only managing clean sheets against Czech Republic, Belarus, and Burkina Faso. However, they have also scored in each of their last 44 internationals in a hugely impressive run of results dating back to their semi-final defeat to France in the 2018 World Cup. It would be very surprising if they drew a blank on Friday night. I think we’ll see Both Teams Score here.

Romelu Lukaku to score anytime
Romelu Lukaku endured a difficult return to Chelsea, a point evidenced by the fact that he is currently linked with an immediate loan return to Inter Milan. However, his record for Belgium is simply superb.
Lukaku has scored a staggering 68 international goals in just 101 appearances for Belgium and is well on track to catch Cristiano Ronaldo’s record-breaking international figures. He has yet to feature for Belgium in 2022 but scored an impressive 11 goals in 12 outings for them last year, including four goals at Euro 2020.
The striker has scored a whopping 57 goals in his last 59 international appearances for Belgium, maintaining a clinical record in front of goal even when his club form dipped at Manchester United. There is no reason to think that he can’t continue to find the back of the net on the international stage and for Lukaku to Score Anytime again.
Memphis Depay to have two or more shots on target
Memphis Depay averaged 5.8 shots per game during Holland’s World Cup qualification campaign, scoring an eye-catching 12 goals as the Dutch topped Group G to qualify for the World Cup for the first time since 2014. Memphis has scored 18 goals in his last 18 appearances and averaged three shots on goal at last year’s Euros.
Clearly, he flourishes on the international stage in a way that he has failed to do at club level and he is good value to test Thibaut Courtois at least twice on Friday. Memphis Depay to have two or more shots on target rounds us off.
