Revealed: New Chelsea owner Todd Boehly’s plan for Saturday’s FA Cup Final

He's looking forward to seeing the new roster

New Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is heading to Wembley on Saturday to watch his new club take on Liverpool in the FA Cup Final.

The American billionaire, who reached an agreement to take over the West London outfit last week, has told friends that he “can’t wait to see his new crew play in the English Soccer Bowl Grand Final”, according to our sources.

“It’ll be a tough four quarters, but he is counting on the blue boys’ offence to bring the trophy home.”

A close advocate told Paddy Power News: “Todd’s new to this soccer thing, but he’s a fast learner and will know all the rules –  even offside – by the end of the summer semester.”

And we were keen to find out if the new boss was aware of the history of the FA Cup in England.

“He’s never actually watched a game of soccer, though he’s looking forward to the half-time show on Saturday, especially if Adele, Coldplay or the Red Hot Chili Peppers are lined up to perform.”

“He’s also keen to join in with fans having their pre-game tailgating cook-outs in the Wembley Dome car-park – he might even drink a beer a jump through a table! Fortunately, he has a comprehensive medical insurance policy.”

When asked if there were any early indicators as to who the new regime may bring into Chelsea next season, they said; “The summer draft will be a big deal for sure.”

“Todd is keen to pick up some great players that will strengthen the roster, but he’s aware that Chelsea won’t get first pick due to the fact that the franchise finished third in Prem 1.”

“Todd’s a cautious guy, he’ll look to run this franchise sensibly and save money wherever he can.

“He’s already told Tommy (Tuchel) that he won’t be forking out for any new Cup Final suits and that the players and staff will have to catch the tube to the ball park like the rest of the fans because the team coach is taking all of his buddies and corporate sponsors to the game.”

And if they deny Liverpool one leg of the historic quadruple, the celebrations will not take place in an exclusive central London hotel.

“Todd will give the playing staff some vouchers that they’ll be able to use at Subway. Apparently there’s one close to Wembley Park station, right?”
