Paddy Power ambassador Phil Thompson is lacking his boots up for the final game of this Premier League weekend, Manchester City v Newcastle. The Toon were in good form heading to face City’s title rivals last weekend and were far from disgraced in their 1-0 loss.
City will be licking their wounds after Real Madrid dumped them out of the Champions League on Wednesday thanks to two injury-time goals that took it to extra time. How’s their mental state going to be heading into this one? Here’s Thommo with his Manchester City v Newcastle tips.
TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League
Newcastle have been flying recently and they’d won four in a row before Liverpool won at St James’ Park last weekend. They’ve been on a good run but this is Manchester City.
How are they going to react to the Champions League defeat? Are they going to sulk or are they going to come out and show everyone what they’re made of?
I expect them to stick together as they’ve lost just one of their last 24 games. I’m going with Man City to Win. Eddie Howe has never picked up a point against City and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.

I’m also keen on Man City to Win 3-0 and Riyad Mahrez to Score Anytime. He’s been in fine form and he always has an eye for goal.
