Sunday afternoon sees Champions League chasers Arsenal travel to the London Stadium to take on West Ham.

Whether by design or not, David Moyes’ side appear to have thrown all of their eggs in the Europa League basket and have won just one of their last five league games, falling way off the pace in the hunt for a European spot.

Mikel Arteta’s young guns, meanwhile, currently sit fourth, two points above their North London rivals, and a third successive win could prove pivotal in their quest for a top-four finish.

Will the Hammers stop the rot and dent those hopes or will a Europa League hangover get the better of them?

Let’s get into the bet builder…

Sunday 1st May: West Ham United v Arsenal
TV: Sky Sports Main Event & Sky Sports Premier League
Kick-off: 4.30pm

Arsenal to win

By far West Ham’s best chance of qualifying for next season’s Champions League now is clearly by winning this season’s Europa League, despite their first-leg defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday.

With a season-defining second leg in Frankfurt, West Ham are unlikely to place too much significance on Sunday’s clash with Arsenal, who have found form again after a slump at the beginning of April threatened to upend their own top four bid.

Mikel Arteta’s side have recorded back-to-back victories over Chelsea and Manchester United to regain a place in the top four ahead of a crucial trip to Tottenham next month.

It is imperative that they keep that winning momentum going on Sunday and should do so against a West Ham side with other things on their mind.

Both teams to score

West Ham have failed to keep a clean sheet in the league since a 1-0 win over Wolves in late February in a run consisting of seven games.

The Hammers have conceded 44 goals in the league this season – the second highest of any club in the top eight – and it seems likely that tally will rise against an Arsenal side that has scored seven goals in their last two outings.

At the other end, Arsenal are without a clean sheet in five games since the international break and boast the third worst defensive record in the top eight, conceding 40 goals in 33 games.

The Gunners have conceded nine goals in their last five league games, meaning they will likely have to score at least twice to come away from the London Stadium with a valuable three points.

Arsenal to have six or more shots on target

Arsenal boast one of the best attacking records in the league in terms of shots on target per game.

The Gunners have registered 5.03 shots on target per game this season, a record only bettered by the current top three.

They have registered 26 efforts on target in their last five games and can be expected to at least match that average against West Ham on Sunday.

West Ham have faced 4.21 shots on target per game this season, but that number might increase on Sunday if Arsenal manage to exploit their tired legs.

Bukayo Saka anytime assist

Saka has only registered five assists in 38 games this season, but no Arsenal player has been more creative than the England winger.

Saka has created 64 chances for Arsenal this season – three more than Martin Odegaard in second – and creates 1.68 chances per 90 minutes.

He also averages 1.9 key passes per game and is a good bet to register his sixth assist of the season at the London Stadium on Sunday.
