19.45: Barnsley v Blackpool – Under 2.5 Goals
Barnsley were relegated last Friday after defeat at nearby Huddersfield. A six-game winless streak gave them little hope of escaping but they’ve proven difficult to beat at the Oakwell over recent weeks where they’ve won one, drawn three and lost one of their last five Championship games. Their overall form has seen them draw two and lose three over their five most previous league fixtures.
Blackpool have little to play for for the rest of the season and their form suggests they’ve already downed tools and are on holiday mode. They’ve won just one of their last five in the league, drawing two and losing two while on their away Championship trips share the same record. Both sides are struggling for goals, the Tykes have scored five over their last five at home with the visitors chalking up four over their last five away fixtures with Over 2.5 goals landing in just one of their last 10 combined home/away games. Under 2.5 Goals has the best value here.
19.45: Fulham v Nottingham Forest – Both Teams to Score and Over 2.5 Goals
Currently nine points ahead of second-placed Bournemouth, Fulham could confirm the Championship title with a win against Forest here. The Cottagers have won two of their last five in the league, drawing one and losing two. At Craven Cottage they’ve won three and lost two over their last five Championship fixtures played there.
The visitors are in mighty form of late, and are now just five points behind Bournemouth in second and will be desperate to catch them and secure the second automatic promotion place. Games are in short supply though so any slip up here and they’re going to be in the lottery of the Playoffs.
Forest have won eight of their last 10 in all competitions, winning four and losing one of their last five in the league and winning two, drawing two and losing one over their last five away Championship games.
It’s hard not to see both sides scoring here and with so much at stake, nobody is going to be playing for a draw. There’s some very good value here in Both Teams to Score and Overs for two teams in fine goal-scoring form.
19.45: Swansea v Bournemouth – Half Time: Draw
Bournemouth don’t look like taking the title and with just two points separating themselves and Huddersfield in third they need to keep winning to be assured of returning to England’s top tier. The Cherries have won just one of their last five in the league, drawing three and losing one while on their league jaunts have won two, drawn one and lost one.
Swansea have won two and drawn three of their last five in the league while at home they’ve won just one, drawn three and lost one. With so many draws between both sides we could exploit that and take the draw price, however, there’s something more interesting here. Both sides over their five most recent league games three have been level at Halftime and seeing that price still above Evens at the time of writing if offering some great value.
19.45: Portsmouth v Wigan – Both Teams to Score
With just two League One games remaining, Wigan will secure promotion with just a draw at Portsmouth. The hosts are in decent shape though and won’t roll over easily, they’ve won three of their last five in the league, drawing one and losing one and have gone nine undefeated at home in their league fixtures at Fratton Park. Of their five most previous they’ve won four and drawn one, scoring 13 goals.
Wigan’s form isn’t the greatest with one win, three draws and a loss over their last five in league competition while their away stats read as two wins and three draws, scoring eight. You’d be forgiven for siding with Pompey here given their strong form but the Latics are fighting for promotion, and can even bag the title if they take all three points and Rotherham fail to win at Sunderland. With both teams in strong goal-scoring form, the best value here is in backing Both Teams to Score.
19.45: Sunderland v Rotherham – Sunderland to Win
Sunderland need to win both of their remaining games and score at least 11 goals to overtake Rotherham in second position. They’d also need MK Dons to lose both of their remaining games so it’s pretty unlikely we’ll see them finishing in second but they should remain in the mix for the playoffs.
The Black Cats are in the better form of the pair here, winning four of their last five in the league, drawing the other one and have won all five of their most recent League One matches at the Stadium of Light. Rotherham have won two and lost three of their last five in the league and have won one, drawn two and lost two of their last five on their travels. The Millers have failed to score in four of their last five on the road and in three of their last five overall league matches. With stats like that we have to side with the hosts here.
