Sunday’s Premier League action concludes with a Merseyside Derby that has more riding on it than most. Liverpool need every point going to keep up with Manchester City at the top of the table while Everton have very real relegation worries.

WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

Here to run the rule over the latest installment of Liverpool v Everton is Paddy football trader Brian McDonnell and our ambassador Phil Thompson. Both agree it’s not going to be a Super Sunday for Everton fans but let’s take a look at their Liverpool v Everton Tips.

4.30pm: Liverpool v Everton

TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League

THOMMO: Liverpool have lost just once in 25 in all competitions against the Blues and Everton, as we know, have had a really difficult time but the last few games might give them hope. A 1-0 win against Manchester United then a 1-1 draw with Leicester.

They’ve got the worst away Premier League record, just six points from 15 games so travelling is not a strong point. They’ve not won any of their last 13 away Premier League matches so it all looks like a Liverpool Win.

Liverpool have won their last 11 games at Anfield, scoring 33 goals and conceding two. The stats keep on racking up. They’ve got the best defensive record in English football and the best home defence in English football as well.

It will be difficult for Everton. Jurgen Klopp went with his strongest set up against Man United I think against Everton, because of Villarreal in the week, this is where the changes might come in.

You’ll have to check the team sheets but because Diogo Jota didn’t start against Manchester United so I’ve got him to score. This is the biggest game of the season for me, the derby game, a lot of people go for the Manchester United match but for me, a local lad, the game against Everton is still the biggest.

I’ll go for a generous, for Everton, a 2-0 Win for Liverpool. I’m going for Jota to Score Anytime as well.

BRIAN: I think this could be a similar result to the Manchester United game for Liverpool during the week. I’d be looking at 3-0 or 4-0 to Liverpool. I think Mo Salah’s really going to be up for this one and I can’t see anything other than a Liverpool win.

If they take the lead early on, Everton can’t afford to just sit back and eventually they’re going to have to go and attack. They need to pick up points, especially after Burnley beat Southampton on Thursday.

That’s where Liverpool are at their most dangerous. Liverpool to Win to Nil or Liverpool (-2) on the handicap are all good bets. 3-0 or 4-0 I’m going for.

I’m not so sure Klopp’s going to rest players. We saw Pep Guardiola rest a few Manchester City players against Liverpool in the FA Cup and we know how that worked out. You can’t take any liberties when you’re in a title race which is going to be as tight as this is going to be so I’m going to go with Mo Salah to Score Anytime.
