We’re really into the business end of the season now with the Champions League quarter-finals kicking off, FA Cup semi-finals on the horizon and most teams having crossed the 30 and 40 game game marks in the Premier League and EFL respectively.

WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

Easter’s late this year but that’s normally do or die time in the Football League with two games across the Friday and Monday. We’ve got a raft of Championship games to get stuck into this midweek as well as a Premier League match to take in.

The Champions League action is covered here, but I’ve been rummaging around the darkest depths of Paddy’s markets to try and bring you some winning value for the league action in England this midweek. It’s another fine four fold acca involving sides trying their best to avoid playing in the Championship next season. So, let’s take a look at where the winning value might lie.

7.30pm: Burnley v Everton – Both Teams to Score? No

TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League

We kick off with a huge match at the foot of the Premier League where Burnley in 19th can go within a point of 17th-placed Everton with a win at Turf Moor. The Clarets also have a one-better goal difference than their opponents so any win would put them in a great position to leapfrog the Toffees who they have a game in hand over.

Everton have been simply shambolic of late and the new manager bounce hasn’t come into effect while it’s business as usual for Burnley who are in poor form but always seem to find a way out of the mire. This is unchartered territory for Everton. Who’s going to blink first?

Maybe, actually, it’s a case of who’s going to wake up first? These two are in dire goal-scoring form. Burnley have the second-worst attack in the league with 22 scored in 28 games. Only Norwich have fewer and Sean Dyche’s dudes have scored just one goal in their last five, firing a blank in four consecutive matches now.

They’ve seen Both Teams to Score? No land in nine of their last 11 Premier League matches. In their last eight across all competitions, Everton have scored four goals including two against Boreham Wood from the 5th tier. Both Teams To Score? No has clicked in eight of their last nine. Turgid 0-0 incoming? You have been warned.

7.45pm: Middlesbrough v Fulham – Fulham to Win

TV: Sky Sports Football

We’re off to The Championship next for a meaty clash between Middlesbrough in 5th and the table-topping Fulham. Boro are realistically out to ensure they finish in the playoffs while The Cottagers are aiming to maintain their lead at the top of the tree as the games keep ticking away.

Chris Wilder’s Boro are in decent league form with three wins, a draw and a loss in their last five. Fulham’s record is identical over the same timeframe but, going further back, they’ve won 11 of their last 15 in the second tier.

I think, all things considered, we can side with the Fulham Win here. These two shared a 1-1 draw on the opening day, but Fulham have scored the most goals in the division, they have the best defence as well as the best away record. Given their form over a long period of time and what’s riding on this, don’t be surprised to see another away win here.

7.45pm: Nottingham Forest v Coventry – Forest Win & Over 2.5 Goals

TV: Sky Sports Red Button

It’s two sides with playoff ambitions next in the shape of Nottingham Forest v Coventry. Forest have three games in hand on Blackburn in 6th who sit one place and one point above them in the table.

The Sky Blues are six points behind Rovers in 11th and will need a lot of things to go their way if they’re to secure a top-six finish. They’ll have a tough test on Wednesday against a Tricky Trees outfit who have lost two of the last 16 in all competitions with one of those coming against Liverpool in the FA Cup.

Coventry’s form has deserted them and they’ve won only one of their last seven, a 4-1 home thrashing of Sheffield United. I think we have to be on the home side then, and Forest to win is a fair enough price.

However, I think we can eke a bit more value out of the selection by adding Over 2.5 Goals onto the Nottingham Forest Win. This has clicked in the home side’s last three matches in the Championship while Cov have seen Overs in three of their last six, a run that’s seen them score eight goals.

8pm: West Brom v Bournemouth – Bournemouth to Win

We conclude Wednesday’s action with what was looking like a potential top of the table clash at the start of the season. However, it’s not gone to plan for West Brom who are way down in 12th. Bournemouth are 2nd and trying frantically to keep hold of Fulham’s coat tails.

The Cherries are eight points off top with a game in hand on Marco Silva’s side. It’s a tough ask but they have a winnable game in front of them here. The Baggies have won just three of their last 18 in all competitions, drawing six and losing nine.

Bournemouth have won 10 of their last 16 in all competitions, drawing two and losing four. However, they haven’t lost for five games and know that another victory here would put them nine points clear of Huddersfield in 3rd while they still hold two games in hand over them.

Scott Parker and pals are really good on the road and have picked up the same points away from home as The Baggies have on home soil this season – 34. I think we’ll keep it simple and back Bournemouth to Win here, given the price and current form of both sides involved.
