We’re in the hinterland between the end of the international break and the resumption of normal service. You might think that Thursday is a complete write off from a football-lover’s point of view – but you’d be wrong.

There is, in fact, some massive games coming up in the Women’s Champions League. We’re at the quarter-final stages and the second legs, no less.

WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

Arsenal have a job on their hands after drawing 1-1 with Wolfsburg in their first leg. Elsewhere, one of the favourites for the tournament, Lyon, are trailing Juventus on aggregate and have to be on the top of their game if they’re to make it through.

I’ve served up a double that, hopefully, has enough value to play as two singles if you’d prefer. So, let’s take a look at your bets for Thursday night.

5.45pm: Wolfsburg v Arsenal – Wolfsburg Win & BTTS

Arsenal find themselves in a very precarious situation heading to Wolfsburg on the back of a 1-1 draw in the first leg. They probably needed to win at home to have big hopes of going through but anything’s possible at this stage.

The German side have to be considered favourites to progress now but they did have to play at the weekend while The Gunners were able to put their feet up and prepare for this. The longer it goes on the more the Super League side will fancy their chances.

However, I just think Wolfsburg are going to get the job done. The play in this one could be Wolfsburg to Win and Both Teams To Score.

Arsenal have scored in nine of their last 10, including the first leg of this match. Wolfsburg have scored in their last 15 and will probably prevail with home advantage on their side.

Lina Hurtig Juventus Women

8pm: Lyon v Juventus – Lyon Win & BTTS

TV: DAZN and DAZN YouTube

Lyon suffered a surprise 2-1 loss to Juventus in the first leg and have it all to do if they are to progress here. It was a real turn up for the books but the French side are, again, massive favourites to both win inside the 90 and progress.

Because of the huge lean towards the home side in the markets there’s no point looking at just a result, but I think there might be a good play in Lyon to Win and Both Teams To Score. Lyon have scored in 12 of their last 13 games.

Juve’s record is even better and they’ve now gone 16 games without firing a blank. Obviously both scored in the first leg against each other and the only element missing was the winners.

However, with the pressure now on and, crucially, home advantage being in their favour I think we’ll side with Lyon. Whether this one goes to extra time or not doesn’t matter, we’re just backing them to win inside the 90.
