It was a great result for Ireland against Belgium last week, they’re No. 1 in the world! They’re unbeaten in their last six games now. It’s always good to keep an unbeaten streak going. It’s good for the players and it keeps confidence high.
The players trust in Stephen Kenny and that’s why they stuck by him when there were rumours he could be sacked.
Before the 2-2 against Belgium, they’d had three clean sheets and were doing well. Against Belgium, Ireland had more shots and shots on target. They didn’t just shut up shop.
Lithuania only beat San Marino 2-1 last week so they shouldn’t cause Ireland many problems.
I like Ireland to Win to Nil and if I had to pick a scoreline, I’d be on Ireland to Win 3-0. Lithuania won’t be a problem for Kenny’s side and their forward players will know they’ve got a great chance to get on the scoresheet.
I’m also keen on Callum Robinson to be the First Goalscorer. The West Brom striker hasn’t quite been firing in the Championship but he’ll be hoping to get a goal for his country on Tuesday night.
