For Saturday night’s football Acca, we’re taking a look at two of the biggest names in European football as they begin their preparations for the Qatar World Cup; Germany and the Netherlands who host Israel and Denmark respectively. The MLS has really gotten off to a great start this season and we’ll also be looking for value in the Charlotte vs Cincinnati match and when Sporting Kansas take on Real Salt Lake later in the night.

WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

19:45 Germany vs Israel: Germany to Win & Both Teams to Score

Germany qualified with almost a perfect record from Group J, winning nine and losing one. That loss was to North Macedonia, who just the other night gave Roberto Mancini’s Italy their marching orders, meaning the Azzurri will miss two successive World Cups for the first time since the competition began. Israel had started their group games quite well but resounding defeats to Denmark, Scotland and Austria left them with too much to do to qualify.

The hosts are quite obviously massive favourites here and are enjoying a run of seven straight victories. At home they’re undefeated over their last six matches, winning four and drawing two. Of their last seven at home, they’ve conceded in five while Israel come into this friendly having scored in six of their last seven matches and scored two or more in five of those seven.

The market isn’t giving the visitors a snowball’s proverbial here but they are in mighty goal-scoring form, particularly Hoffenheim’s Moanes Dabbur who has six in his last nine competitive matches for the Blue and Whites. The value then is in backing Israel to draw some blood here but the hosts should see this one out pretty comfortably. We’re backing Germany to Win & Both Teams to Score.

19:45 Netherlands vs Denmark: Over 2.5 Goals

Louis van Gaal’s Netherlands qualified with seven wins, two draws and one loss over their 10 World Cup Qualifiers. Denmark also qualified but with a better record of nine wins and just one loss, losing 2-0 to Scotland in a match that saw the Scots qualifying for the playoffs on the final matchday.

Both teams are in robust overall shape with the Dutch enjoying a run of seven games undefeated, winning five and drawing two, while the visitors have won six of their last seven fixtures, losing the other. At home, the Oranje have been in great goal-scoring form, scoring 18 over their last five on Dutch soil while Denmark have netted eight over their last five away trips. The hosts have scored 17 over their last five home/away games with Denmark scoring 13.

With those records then we have to look at a BTTS bet but with both in such great goal-scoring form we see at least three goals here so we’re going with Over 2.5 Goals at a very decent price.

21:00 Charlotte vs Cincinnati: Both Teams to Score

Charlotte’s first MLS season isn’t going to plan but they finally got their first win of the season last weekend with a 3-1 victory at home over New England. Cincinnati have won two and lost two of their four MLS games so far. The hosts are favourites with the market here even though they have the poorer recent form of the pair. The reason being is that the Orange and Blue have a horrific away record with just one win over their last 13 away games.

However, they have won both of their most recent league games and against an inexperienced home side who have conceded seven over their four MLS games they should get at least one here. They’ve got a particularly leaky defence themselves, though, conceding 10 over their last five competitive matches and 16 over their last five away league clashes. With both teams conceding so many then we have to look at the Both Teams to Score market here.

23:00 Sporting Kansas vs Real Salt Lake: Real Salt Lake or Draw

Sporting Kansas come into their fifth league game of the season as odds-on favourites here but they’ve won just one of their MLS games to date this campaign, losing all three of the others. Real Salt Lake are undefeated over their four league games, winning three and drawing the other, scoring six and conceding three.

The hosts don’t have a great record when facing the Claret and Cobalt, indeed they’ve beaten them just once over their last five visits to Children’s Mercy Park. The visitors won three of those five with the other ending 1-1. Should we lump on the visitors then? Not quite, Kansas had a pretty decent home record last season and old habits die hard as we all know but it’s worth mentioning here that the travelling side have only lost one of their last seven away MLS trips. With all these stats then the best value is in opposing the home side, we’re backing Real Salt Lake or Draw.

All four of these picks in a four-fold Acca will give you odds of 17/1.
