Manchester City have hired a Smart car to transport all their fans to Wembley for the club’s FA Cup semi-final clash with Liverpool.
City officials made the decision when it emerged there would be no direct trains to London from Manchester on the weekend of the match.

The two-passenger hatchback will ferry City’s loyal fan base to the Wembley showpiece before making a return trip to the Etihad Stadium later that evening.
‘Although we briefly considered sending the fans to London a tandem bicycle, a Smart car was the most time-efficient mode of transport’, a spokesman for City owner Sheikh Mansour told Paddy Power News.
‘I’m sure the pair of them will have a great old sing-song as they hurtle along the M40 at speeds of 25mph’.
‘And, in case they get peckish on the way, we’ve put a Twix in the glove compartment. They can have a finger each’.
Despite laying on the transport, Mansour remains hopeful of a semi-final redraw after lodging an appeal with the Football Association.
Paddy Power News understands the Eastland’s outfit are still furious they weren’t given a home tie with Kidderminster Harriers.
Meanwhile, the FA confirmed they are considering alternative venues for the semi-final clash following complaints from Liverpool supporter’s clubs about the transport chaos.
They accused English football’s governing body of maximising its revenue streams at the expense of the average fan.
‘We always put the considerations of the fans above all others,’ said an FA spokesperson.
‘That is why we are looking at alternative locations for the semi-final including Monaco, Dubai and inside Scrooge McDuck’s vault’.
‘However, in the event a suitable venue cannot be found, the outcome of the game will be decided by a televised pose-down between Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp’.
