For Saturday night’s football Acca we’re taking a look at some top-of-the table clashes from Spain’s La Liga where Rayo Vallecano host a resurgent Atletico Madrid and at the Ligue Un clash between Nantes and Lille who are facing off to break into the European places.

In the MLS Atlanta United have started the season very well and take on CF Montreal but starting us off we have Serie A leaders AC Milan visiting Cagliari. Let’s find some value in the markets.

Cagliari vs AC Milan (19:45) Milan to Win & Over 1.5 Goals

TV: BT Sport ESPN

Cagliari’s form is worsening and they are currently just one place above the relegation zone which may well change before kickoff. The hosts have won just one of their last five Serie A games, winning one, drawing two and losing two. At the Unipol Domus they share the same record and have only beaten AC Milan in one of their last 10 meetings against them at home.

Milan are unbeaten over their last nine games in all competitions and their away league form is very strong with four wins over their last five on their Serie A jaunts, drawing the other one. It’s hard not to see the hosts winning this but we want to squeeze more value out of it instead of just backing them. The Rossoneri have scored at least two in five of their last seven away games and we see that trend continuing here. We’re backing Milan to Win & Over 1.5 Goals.

Nantes vs Lille (20:00): Both Teams to Score

TV: BT Sport Extra

Both sides currently sit just outside the European places and a win here for either will get them back into contention for next season’s European competitions. Nantes are in decent form of late, they’ve won three of their last five in Ligue Un, drawing one and losing one. At home it’s even better with five wins and one draw over their last six at the Stade de la Beaujoire.

Lille made Chelsea work hard during their 1-2 loss in the Champions League midweek and their league form is also very good with three wins and two draws. Over their away games they’ve won three, drawn one and lost one. With both teams in ripe form it’s tough to pick a winner here but with good results they’re obviously scoring goals so the best bet here is in backing Both Teams to Score.

Rayo Vallecano vs Atletico Madrid (20:00): Atletico to win 1-0, 2-0 or 3-0

TV: La Liga TV

Rayo Vallecano’s form is awful. The hosts have won just one of their last 10 fixtures, losing seven and drawing two. At the Estadio de Vallecas they are winless over their last five played there in La Liga, drawing two and losing three and worst of all, they managed to score just two goals over those five games.

Atletico have won five of their last six, drawing the other, in all competitions of late while in La Liga they’ve won four of their last five games played, losing the other. Away from home their form doesn’t look the best with two wins, one draw and two losses. While those away stats aren’t great we can all see that over more recent form the Colchoneros have found their groove again and will have more than enough to win against a side who haven’t even been hitting barndoors of late. We’re looking at Atletico to Win 1-0, 2-0 or 3-0 here.

Atlanta United vs CF Montreal (20:00): Atalanta to Win

Atlanta have started off their MLS season with two wins and a loss, scoring five and conceding five as well. Their home form in the league, running into last season of course, has seen them going nine games without defeat at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, winning seven and drawing two.

Montreal have lost both of their MLS games so far since the season began and also lost one and drew one in the CONCACAF Champions League. Their away form, also going back into last season, in the league is pretty dire too as they’ve lost four of their last six on the road, drawing the other two. With stats like those and knowing that the hosts have beaten the away side in all four of their previous meetings here we have to go with the home side here.
