Austrian champions Red Bull Salzburg got a surprise 1-1 draw with German giants Bayern in the reverse fixture last month and have given themselves a fighting chance of causing a huge upset at the Allianz. Here’s what Thommo’s tipping up tonight.
8:00pm: Bayern Munich vs Red Bull Salzburg BT Sport 3
THOMMO: I think most people would have had Bayern in their bets a couple of weeks ago, but Salzburg surprised everybody with a 1-1 draw. It was a late equaliser from Bayern, but I don’t think they’ll be as sloppy this time and they’re sitting top of the Bundesliga at the moment.
That said, they only drew 1-1 with Bayer Leverkusen at the Allianz Arena last weekend, so that was a bit of a wake-up call for them.
What do we make of Redbull Salzburg? Well they won 4-0 at the weekend, but they’re not in a tough league. Then again, they’ve not conceded in three games at the moment so things are looking good for them.
But with the home advantage, I’m going to go with Bayern to win by three goals to nil.
Of course I’m also going for Robert Lewandowski to score at any time.
