Bet Builder Tips: Spurs to beat Everton in this Monday night 15/1 four-way flutter

Paddy's tipster Andrew Cunneen thinks a Kane-inspired Spurs will bounce back from their FA Cup embarassment.

Spurs had the chance to string a couple of positive results in a row together recently. The amazement of beating Manchester City was undone by Burnley, before the cracking showing against Leeds produced embarrassment on Teeside.

8:00pm: Tottenham Hotspur v Everton
Sky Sports Premier League

Everton? Their only win since early December came against Leeds – which we’re clearly now not counting as they’re an anomaly – much like Ole’s United results were when they lost to Watford that time.

Spurs to Win

Remember the trend?

Great result – fans overjoyed and ponder top-four. Bad result follows – fans want heads. Immediately made up for by a good result – denying the fans the justification for their angry Facebook comments. Then a pathetic showing to knock them back to square one.

For those keeping score of the eternal Spurs limbo game, it’s now about time they win.

The problem with them is – it’s not really a consistent issue because their players are actually too good not to be producing, even when they’re only giving about 50%. So that ends up in Spurs winning games in which they’re poor and then using that reassurance to undermine their preparation the next time.

Harry Kane to Score First

Kane scoring first doesn’t seem like a leg I’d normally include, but him netting in a side that’s struggling is usually a good enough catalyst for red tops to run stories on him joining Manchester City again, to compound the frustration.

That, and the fact he’s the best player on the pitch by any distance.

Half-Time: Draw

With Spurs being guaranteed possession in this tie, I don’t like them scoring early as they’re generally better against sides who build-up slowly, and Lampard’s emphasis is now on keeping clean sheets.

Usually in these types of games, Spurs huff and puff before eventually landing a blow. Expect to be waiting.

Both Teams to Score – No

And while I have you, Conte’s renewed emphasis on not over-committing his wing backs means that Everton’s primary channels of attack are nullified.

Not that I truly expect them to score anyway. They only netted once against Newcastle and Norwich, while we’ve already established my local U-14 side would knock a couple past Bielsa’s Leeds team towards the end.

They’ve not scored in either of their last two games either, so a dry spell looks set to continue.
