Liverpool great and Paddy Power ambassador Phil Thompson is back to run the rule over The Reds’ FA Cup clash with Norwich on Wednesday. Liverpool are massive favourites and they’ll still be buzzing after winning the Carabao Cup at the weekend.

WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS

What kind of team will they put out here after going all the way to penalties on Sunday, though? Thommo thinks his lads will have enough whoever plays so let’s take a look at his Liverpool v Norwich tips.

Wednesday 8.15pm: Liverpool v Norwich

TV: ITV and ITV Hub

Whatever team Liverpool will play – and that’s the issue with this one, after going through extra time in the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea – there’s going to be a lot of tired players.

We don’t yet know who Liverpool will start with but you have to think it will be good enough to beat Norwich. Do Norwich play everybody because they will realise that that their main priority is to stay in the Premier League?

We’re not too sure but they lost 2-0 to Southampton the other night. Listen, the two games before that were Liverpool and Manchester City and you’re expecting them to lose, but to go down with a whimper against the Saints was pretty poor.

They’ve failed to score in 16 of the 26 games they’ve played in the Premier League so that’s pretty poor in itself. They’ve lost five of the last six away games so their away record isn’t great and they do struggle scoring goals.

For Liverpool, whoever plays will be more than enough. They’ve lost just two of the last 50 games in all competitions. Everything’s pointing towards Liverpool and I’m not going to be any different.

Because of the team selection issues I’m just going Liverpool to Win 2-0. I expect Diogo Jota, who came on as a substitute at Wembley, to start this game so I’m going for Jota to Score Anytime.
