7.45pm: Lyon v Lille – Under 2.5 Goals

TV: BT Sport 2

We’ll start in France with a battle between two underachieving teams. Lyon in 8th host last season’s champions Lille who are all the way down in 11th. Lille are in bang-average form while Lyon have shown improvement of late after a run of draws.

This one looks to have Under 2.5 Goals written all over it and we’re getting a great price on that punt. Unders has landed in eight of Lyon’s last nine Ligue 1 matches. For Lille it’s five of their last eight and over the sides’ last combined 20 top flight French matches we’ve seen Under 2.5 Goals on 13 occasions.

7.45pm: Lazio v Napoli – The Draw

TV: BT Sport 1

It’s a completely different story in our next game where Lazio and Napoli are both in really good form heading into this clash in the Italian capital. Lazio are up to 6th and might fancy a Champions League charge while Napoli are 3rd, just three points off the top.

These two approach the game in very different ways. The visitors have Serie A’s best defence and 5th-best attack while Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio have conceded 22 goals more than their opponents but boast the 3rd-best strike force and have scored six more than Napoli.

To further muddy the waters, Napoli have the 3rd-best away record in the league while Lazio have the 4th best home record. It’s so hard to separate these two and Paddy’s odds reflect that. I just think these will cancel each other out, probably with a 1-1 Draw.

Xavi Barcelona

8pm: Barcelona v Athletic Bilbao – Barcelona Win & BTTS

TV: LaLigaTV

Given the myriad of issues surrounding them at the moment, you might be surprised to find out that Barcelona are La Liga’s form team over the last eight games. They take on Athletic Bilbao on Sunday night who are going well themselves.

Xavi’s chaps are into the Champions League places but Bilbao will be hoping to get to within two points of them with a win at the Camp Nou. It’s another finely-poised match but Barcelona look unbeatable at the moment. Their last Liga loss came 10 games back and they’ve, somehow, played a remarkable seven away games in that run which makes it all even more impressive.

Over the last 10, Bilbao have lost three so I think it’s hard to see Barcelona not getting the result here. The W-D-W odds are a bit short for my liking but I’ll side with the value-packed Barcelona to Win and Both Teams to Score.

Both teams have scored in seven of Barca’s last nine in the Spanish league while Bilbao have netted in six of their last seven and pose a serious threat going forward. This one could be really high scoring and even more entertaining.

8.30pm: Porto v Gil Vicente – Porto Win & Over 1.5 Goals

TV: BT Sport 3

Sunday’s action concludes in Portugal where Porto face Gil Vicente in the Primeira Liga. Our hosts are flattening pretty much everything in sight and they’ve won 20 of their 23 games this season, drawing the other three with two of those against 2nd-placed Sporting.

Gil Vicente are doing pretty well and they’re enjoying a spell of good form that’s lifted them to 5th. The boys from Barcelos are on an eight game unbeaten run with Sporting the last team to defeat them, the only time they’ve suffered a loss in 14 games.

They’ll be no match for the mighty Porto, though. Porto won the away game 2-1 and I think we’re in for something similar here. Given the big value elsewhere I’m happy to keep it nice and simple and go with Porto to Win and Over 1.5 Goals.

This would have clicked in seven of the last nine Porto league games and 15 of the last 18 going back. If you’re feeling bold you might want to side with a Porto victory and Over 2.5 Goals but 1.5 Goals will do for me.
