Paddy Power ambassador Phil Thompson is ready and raring to go ahead of another Premier League weekend. So much so that he was up early and running around giddy at the prospect of a Friday night game in the shape of Southampton v Norwich.
The Saints are plodding along in midtable but Norwich’s mini revival was emphatically stopped by two tough games in the top flight against Manchester City and Liverpool. They’ll have a better chance here but how does Thommo see this one playing out? Here’s his Southampton v Norwich tips.
TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League
Southampton are having a good run of it and they’re unbeaten in five games in all competitions. The bet that I would have would be Southampton to Win to Nil. Norwich are the lowest away goal scorers with seven.
They had had a good run prior to facing Manchester City and Liverpool, conceding four against City and three against Liverpool. Southampton are having a good time of it, at St Mary’s, I can’t see anything other than a Southampton Win.
If you’re looking for a goal scorer, I’d say James Ward-Prowse. He’s fantastic at set plays, set pieces, penalty kicks, I would expect, if you’re going to have a goal scorer it would be Ward-Prowse to Score Anytime and my judgment on this is 2-0 to Southampton.
