Paddy Power ambassador Phil Thompson is a man who loves a bit of rivalry and getting stuck into a derby or two. The Liverpool legend played in a few in his time and he’s relishing Leeds v Manchester United on Sunday.
These two aren’t in the best of shape, though, but could this be the game to breathe either into life? It should be a cracking contest at Elland Road and here’s Thommo’s Leeds v Manchester United tips.
TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League
This does get the juices flowing and you start thinking off all the memories from the past. You look at Leeds and they’re having such a difficult time. They’ve only picked up one point in their last three Premier League games, they’ve conceded 46 goals.
There’s only Norwich who’ve conceded more and they’re on 50, so that is quite astonishing. They’ve conceded 26 in their last nine Premier League games. The stats don’t make good reading for Leeds United.
They’ve won only one of their last four at Elland Road in the Premier League and that was against Burnley. Manchester United are unbeaten in six Premier League games now which they’ll be feeling good about.
I know it doesn’t feel like it, they’ve had a bit of luck, David De Gea’s been man of the match in a few games, which he was again against Brighton. But they’ve won just two of their last seven away so it’s a little bit closer than what we’re all thinking.

I’m going for 2-1 to Manchester United. I’m also going for Bruno Fernandes to Score Anytime. Fernandes has scored five in three Premier League games against Leeds so have a look for him to be on the score sheet.
