The 158th Serie A Turin derby takes place on Friday night between Juventus and Torino and the away side have a terrible record when travelling the 10 kilometres north, having not beaten their city rivals as the away side since 1995.

That’s unlikely to change here with the Old Lady in terrific form, having not lost in the league since November while Il Toro have lost both of their most recent league meetings. Let’s dig into the stats here and find the Three Best Bets.

Friday 7.45pm kick-off: Juventus v Torino
BT Sport 2

Torino to Score Under 0.5 Goals

While the roughly 4/7 odds for Juventus to win here are obviously short, the price still represents pretty decent value considering they’ve won four of their last five home league encounters and the visiting side have won just two on their travels in Serie A all season.

Max Allegri’s return to the Juventus managerial role saw him having to shore up the Old Lady’s defence and with on-and-off injuries to the usual stalwart pair of Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci he’s had a bit of a balancing act to perform. However, Netherland’s Matthijs de Ligt has fit in and Poland’s Wojciech Szczesny has been a rock in goal, conceding just eight goals on home turf in the league so far.

The away side have been finding life on the road tough this season, scoring just three goals over their last nine on the road and with the Juve defence keeping five clean sheets in the league over their last seven we’re finding it hard to make a case for the visitors scoring here. Our first bet then is Torino to Score Under 0.5 Goals.

Juventus to Win 1-0, 2-0 or 3-0

The home side have won four of their last five at the Juventus Stadium by a scoreline of 2-0, the other was a bruising 1-1 draw with Napoli, the team one place above them in the Serie A standings. Of the last nine meetings in all competitions between these old enemies here the hosts have come away with at least two goals in seven of those matches.

There’s little doubt that the home side will take the points here and cut the distance on Napoli to just four points. There’s a couple of options here to exploit these stats, we could back Juve to Win & Over 1.5 Goals but the better odds are in the Correct Score Combinations market, we’re backing Juventus to Win 1-0, 2-0 or 3-0 at some very healthy odds.

Paulo Dybala to Score Anytime

The Old Lady have somewhat struggled for a regular goalscorer this season, hence why Serbian international Dusan Vlahovic has been brought in. The former Fiorentina man scored 17 in 21 Serie A games for I Viola this season and has one in two league appearances since his transfer. He’s not got a great record against Torino though, scoring just one in seven appearances.

Paulo Dybala has been in excellent form this season. Largely egged on by his off-field contract negotiations, he’s been showing the suits in the executive boxes, and particularly Pavel Nedved who, in fairness, always watches from the stands, his worth to the side by scoring seven in 19 in the league, two in two in the Coppa Italia and three in four Champions League appearances. Score one here against their oldest of rivals and the fans will be pressuring the board to get him signed up. With a very decent record of five goals in 16 against Torino previously, we’re really liking his odds of scoring here anytime.
