Our tipster James Walters is expecting Senegal to get the job done.

We’re down to the final two in the Africa Cup of Nations as Senegal face Egypt in the final. However, most football fans will see it as Sadio Mane v Mohamed Salah with the winner getting bragging rights next week when they see each other back in Liverpool.

We tipped up Senegal to win it all in our pre-tournament betting preview but how about a tidy Bet Builder for the big one? You don’t need to ask us twice.

Senegal to Win

Senegal were beaten in the final by Algeria last time but they’ve given themselves a chance to complete their redemption mission and win their first ever AFCON title. While Egypt have won it all seven times, their last triumph came in 2010. Senegal are unbeaten in this year’s tournament but they’ve turned it on in their last three games, scoring eight and conceding two. We’re siding with Senegal to Win but if you want to play it safe, Senegal to Lift the Cup is a solid selection.

Half Time: The Draw

Egypt have been hard to beat all tournament, with their six fixtures being decided by one goal or penalties. While Senegal seem to have found form at the perfect time, we’re still expecting a cagey affair due to what is at stake. The first half will be a feeling out process for both sides so backing Half Time: The Draw makes a lot of sense.

Under 2.5 Goals

As mentioned previously, we’re not expecting many goals in this one. Egypt have an experienced side who will refuse to give up many chances. Senegal will likely be banging at the door but we doubt this will be a goal fest. Under 2.5 Goals will do fur us!

Over 3.5 Cards

Egypt and Senegal have picked up nine and eight yellow cards respectively, with Egypt receiving six bookings in their last two games. Due to the pressure of playing in the AFCON final, we can expect cards. A couple of bookings for each team will see this selection land so we’re not asking for too much are we? Over 3.5 Cards it is.

Mohamed Elneny to be Shown a Card

Arsenal’s Mohamed Elneny has been shown a yellow card twice in this year’s tournament and the defensive midfielder is always good for a booking. He will be facing off against Crystal Palace’s Cheikhou Kouyate and Nampalys Mendy of Leicester, while also battling with former Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye. Sadio Mane also drifts inside when playing for Senegal so Elneny will have plenty of opportunities to commit fouls. Senegal will likely have the larger share of possession on Sunday night so we’re backing Mohamed Elneny to be Shown a Card.
